I agree with you about longevity - and part of the reason I'm moving away from Birks is that I haven't found a local repair option.
I like the look of the Mountain Clogs as well, but price and availability (along with questionable repairability on a mainland Europe) has kept me off them.
Will a general cobbler/shoe repair place not undertake it?

I like the look of the Mountain Clogs as well, but price and availability (along with questionable repairability on a mainland Europe) has kept me off them. But I am quite keen on an airy closed toe-box option, as I've had some wet, brambly and nettly rides in Birks this year.
Would love the Samsø, but with a closed toe
