Will Starmer be able to stay Prime minster for longer than Johnson? Do we need a Fall of the Labour party thread?
-
• #5553
Starmer will be here until the next election. The fear is what follows, if Labour don't up their game.

a lot of people are always, always prone to thinking about Labour: that they’re very free and easy when they’re spending other people’s money.
Marina got the same bumper book of cliches that I did for International Workers Day.

Marina has nailed it.

What if we all send him some nice gifts for Christmas? Would we still have to pay taxes next year?
-

Oh, dear; hope these are teething troubles and acts will get sorted soon.
Quite despondent how thing have gone in the last few days. Don't mind the Kickball box thing but the other stuff inc Hedge Funds funding, ick ick ick.
Please get better at this Keir

"I understand how my gifted Arsenal tickets look in retrospect, I'm fine watching it on the box from now on, we will be more cautious with any gifts going forward."
Literally just had to say that.

Keir Starmer in dodgy streaming box shocker.

Perfect timing, they just decided not to take clothing anymore so a nice big telly is probably
appropriate. -

They do really provide great value for money though:
In total, openDemocracy estimates that Labour shadow cabinet members and their staff accepted luxury gifts from Google worth nearly £10,000 over the months before they announced their policy U-turn. By contrast, the value to the British public of the policy Labour appears to have ditched is estimated at around £3bn.

Unfortunately our politics has been bought and paid for.
-
• #5567
Come on. They didn't cancel a massive £3b tax policy because three relatively junior people got Glasto tickets
Aside from anything else the headliners were Coldplay, Dua Lipa and SZA, you'd double the proposed tax rate if someone gave you free tickets to that. (I paid for my tickets)

We know more about the starmer's wardrobe than the labour parties policies. I'm sure streeting would spin that as a win for political propriety.

Secretary of State for Business and Trade sounds like a real job title to me.
But yeah, these items were sent to me free of charge but the company does have no influence on my decisions, please like and hit the subscribe button.

How many millions and billions did tory spaff up the wall? I'm sure we will get the total after we finished with Labour wardrobe costs.

The honeymoon period continues, then. When do we care about the leaders of the country?
-
• #5573
Those bad Tories.. 👜

I saw a claim recently that the total of the amount of stuff that Starmer has received is less than the amount that Johnson received for refurbishment of number 10 (where he couldn't quite remember where the money had come from).
But hopefully this shit show will lead to some reforming of the rules.

I don't think we have to worry about the wardrobe costs, just what they bought the donors.
That’s actually quite a surprise!
Damn, I need a pay rise
