Any recommendations for servicing? Ideally South / South East but anywhere central would work.
A friend has a Brompton which could do with a clean and tune up, nothing major just drivetrain and brakes. They’ve already had some half arsed work done in the past so I’m looking for a reliable shop to send them to.

Anyone converted their Brompton to disc brakes?
I’m in two minds with the new G-line but the deciding factor is that the size increase is a show stopper for me.
Just thinking out loud here and potentially using the kinetic or even Aliexpress/ebay fork and triangle for the initial conversion.
Thoughts?

Ha, yeah sorry should have said southeast England

Yes, Kinetics kit. Would 100% do it again. Can’t recommend enough.
Still 16” wheels, but slightly wider when folded as it uses standard 100/135 hub spacing.

I see it’s cable disc, is hydro a bad idea?
-
• #15916
I chose cable mainly for cost and less faff when changing things at home. Ben seems to mostly do hydros so don’t think there’s much in it. Eerder Metaal also does disk conversions and all they use is hydro I believe so whichever takes your fancy.

G Line incoming , would have been handy for Saturdays Dieppe to Paris spin, hadn't looked at the avenue verte in much detail before hopping on the Brompton

I see the G-Line as a legitimate n+1 scenario, would have been tricky to explain to my other half why i needed to spend the cost of a new bike upgrading my existing one but clearly a new bike for new terrain is a winning argument, this is going to be my pitch anyway...

Thank your lucky stars it wasn't raining. I did that section in a downpour and it was horrible. Horrible.
