Anyone run the mks ezy compact without the yellow safety rings ?

I’m super annoyed because I didn’t really appreciate they actually make removing the pedal/s a fiddly faff.

I don’t have the rings fitted, am removing the r/h pedal at every fold.
As long as the collar isn’t stuck in the open position the pedal stays put.
