Are Gravelkings the best tyres ever???
Mine still look like this after about 4000-5000km of commuting and 0 punctures.

Finally, someone else who likes Gravelkings on here. I do like them but prefer Terravail Ramparts. They're similar but feel quicker and smoother. Might be worth a look if you fancy a change in another few thousand miles.

Am a GK user, but the slick ones. Is that the front what's the rear look like?
-
• #10530
Yes this is the front, the rear looks pretty much the same

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep it in the back of my mind

Are Gravelkings the best tyres ever???
Shots fired. By the laws of averages they must manufacture a good GK tyre occasionally.
-
• #10533
Yes they are, that is until panaracer make a tubeless compatible pasela in 700x42.
-
• #10534
That is the dream, but actually a 45 because they always come up a few mm smaller.

adding to the chorus to say I think GKs are fine too #justbuyanarkose #justbuyGKs

After a decent 27.5+ tyre what are the options?
Cheers ta -

Me again,
Contact Speed do they come up big or small? Or are they true to size? Ta. -
• #10538
Apparently the new 'pros' come up small on narrower rims, designed for modern rims?

Topical… what is the best equivalent to a pasela, but that comes up in a 40/42 size? For mostly commuting use
I have some gravelking SS already, anything else out there?
-
• #10540
Could look at Sawtooths in a 42 for commuting. Or pathfinders if you want something a little nippier.
If you do want sawtooths, I've got a pair in tan and a pair in black I can sell for cheapo.

Gravelking slicks, Ultradynamico cavas, or 38mm paselas on wider rims, they come out to 39(!)mm on a 25mm internal width rim.
Everyone has their preferred tyre brand, mine seems to be panaracer, so anything they make in the size I'm after is what I usually go for. -
• #10542
Sounds good
Have 38 paselas on my other commuter which I love, but find they feel a bit closer to a 35 than 38, perhaps as rims are 19 -

Will be in hunt for all black but thank for the rec

Vittoria terreno zero 'endurance'
Much tougher than gravelking ss in my experience. -

Continental Contact Urban

I really love my Hutchinson Overides edit. also they were cheap - also I’m done with WTB gravel tyres the carcass cracks and is so porous even before that, tubeless is annoying with them, and they wear quite quick
-
• #10547
No other commuting tyres necessary 😅
-
• #10548
Indeed not! Currently on all four of the bikes that I have built up and running.
My only wish is for to add the 2.5" width to the 26" lineup - would be awesome for the dadbike and the tandem. -
• #10549
second the need for an ultra durable semi slick 26 x 2.2 or more tyre, ideally tubeless, for our tandem. it is annoying hunting out old school mtb tyres on ebay. and then immediately ripping through them

You can get Contact Urbans in that size. E-bike rating means they are rated at 135 kg/tyre as well. I think @Black_Rainbow_Project has had them setup ghetto tubeless?
TIL that this is a different tyre to the 4 seasons...... interesting
