I disagree. I’ve had great success with avid shorty and shimano and currently have excellent braking with TRP Revox
Anything but the cheapest seem pretty good. Probably wouldn’t ride them for downhill but never felt like I needed more power for road or cx

You can still get the alloy ones, TRP Eurox, but I wasn't going to recommend them because you need to have a hand grip like Geoff Capes to be able to stop your bike. Forget about emergency stops.
Same as the carbon ones thoough, dey look so nize?

I have the non carbon Revox and they're amazing. I think the arms are too short on the Eurox

Is this just ordinary self-amalgamating tape, or would that lack "Fiberglass reinforced construction"?

How do lumens work?
Are 2x1000lm lights = 1x2000lm light?
-
• #123537
Supposedly, but light sellers are notorious for miss-stating the lumens of their devices.

How do lumens work?
Not very well as a guide to how well a complete light will serve a particular purpose.
-
• #123540
miss-stating the lumens
It's not that they lie, it's that gross emitter luminous flux is almost meaningless without the context of optics design and information about the target to be illuminated.

Yep, got a similar one with the same domain yesterday. Have a quick search for qrco.de and you'll see a bunch of folks reporting similar

I'm pretty tight on rear clearance between the seat stays here.
I'm wondering if there's a way to lightly and neatly dimple the seat stay at the point the ribs make contact?I also wondered about the old ball bearing in the dropouts trick. Is that viable on the rear? Or possibly sanding or clipping back the ribs

Electric shoe-driers (this sort of thing) - do they work/are they going to burn my house down/if I get the ones from AliX for £10, are THEY going to burn my house down?
3 x dog walks a day in winter means my walking boots never really dry out, and I just hate wearing wellies unless we're going to proper slop-town.
-
• #123549
I sent someone else on a mission to try Ali express wheels. Maybe you could try the boot dryer and if you don’t die I’ll buy one?
-
• #123550
I don't have one but it's the kind of thing I wouldn't buy from Alix.
I do have this Decathlon one bookmarked which is probably what I'd go for at just over a tenner

Yeah... that's what my friend thought.
So next questions:
