  • Can’t wait for Slow Horses, it’s going to be a double header with last episode of Sunny.
Watched the first episode of Shogun last night which hooked us both in, surprised to find something on there apart from Star Wars that’s worth watching.
Only murders in the building didn’t work for us, felt like there was a long wait for something funny and everything was laboured and canned laughter at any minute to really make me turn it off.

  • Just started on Colin from Accounts after recommendations on here.

Just finished S1 E2 and it's really good. Also, my wife likes it too. Not many things other than wildlife documentaries and, randomly, the LoTR films that we both watch.

  • Just started watching the US Office. Really enjoying it so far.

  • Just started watching the US Office. Really enjoying it so far.

It's a bit dated now, but I'm really jealous of you.

  • Yeah Dander is toned down a lot.
But then I always saw Lamb as looking like John Sargeant

  • I hope sooner or later they show just how messed up Dander actually is - probably the one character (based off what I've read so far) who isn't really reflected in the series

  • Just finished A Small Light. It's impressive how so much hope and love can be squeezed into a tragic story you already know the end of, but along with the sadness and horror were some uplifting bits to watch with something in your eye. Well made and acted too.

  • Apollo 13 Survival on Netflix.

    Wonderful.

All the visuals are from NASA's archive of the mission or other Apollo missions. Most of the audio is also from the archive, with the rest coming from the Lovell family and the mission director.

  • Thanks for the recco. Will check that out. Think I’ve mentioned before somewhere on here, but this is very good.

  • I think they will take Dander down that path when the big spoiler happens …followed by the next big thing she does

  • Only started Slow Horses a couple of weeks ago, after getting Apple free with my bank account (Barclays). Wonderfully balanced. Finished S3 last night. Can’t wait to tune into the new series. Wasn’t aware it was book-based so will look those up.

What else should I look into on Apple? I had it before on a free month or two with Apple products. I really liked Silo and the Idris Elba aeroplane thing. I believe there is a new series of Silo coming up.

  • I thought Blackbird on apple was really good

A lot of people liked Severance but I just found it smug and irritating…give it a go I’m probably wrong

  • Yes it is indeed.

  • Wasn’t aware it was book-based so will look those up

They're good books to. Silo is also a book, called Wool.

  • The Mick Herron books are incredible. I’m considering re reading them

  • Severance and Blackbird both get my vote. I also really liked Criminal record and if you're ok with harmless fun, Shrinking.

  • Shrinking was great and there's a new series on the way.

  • Started watching Legit last night. Pretty funny.

  • The final episode of Sunny did not disappoint. Also, I'd begun to worry that the show was forgetting the whole dangers-of-AI plot, but the last three episodes were belters on that score, the penultimate one especially.

  • Sunny was good. Finally got round to starting Slow Horses, smashed the first series in one go, great stuff.

  • Am I missing something with Colin in accounts?

  • Ended up rewatching the Goliath series on Amazon to burn out the remainder of my subscription (it will take a long time to not here "Sauron..." every time an add break kicks in). The seasons go up and down in quality but season 4 seems like an underappreciated bit of work. Strong usual cast plus Bruce Dern and JK Simmons and some lovely cinematography. Nothing exceptionally smart but very watchable. Nina Arianda's character probably one of my favourites from more recent TV.

  • Finished the new series of Colin from accounts. This is one was much more comedy drama than just comedy. Reminds me of Catastrophe.

  • I'm half way through and enjoying it, like the first.

It is starting to erk me though the constant artificial drama that could be avoided so easily, but I guess thats not entertaining.
