  • Those wheels are fugly

  • Chain needs some lube

  • Maybe some spoke tensioning

  • i don’t understand this

    maybe it’s too subtle

  • I'm saying the bike is very "LOOK AT MY FUCKING STICKERS!!!!!"

  • ahhhhhhhh

caps lock does make it easier to understand tbf

thanks for teaching me a new word also!

  • Which word?

You sound like my missus. Most of the words I've taught her shouldn't be said in public though :D

  • I can’t recall ever coming across the word ‘consternation’

Probably always read it as ‘constipation’ and just moved on no questions asked.

  • I just thought it fitted with the Yoda phrasing. You're welcome. ;)

  • You're welcome. ;)

    Welcome you are

  • Bars too wide and crank length looks to be 200+. Otherwise, not bad.

  • nice! part of that loop is my daily commute from loughborough to leicester.

  • in other gravel related news, as part of an ongoing bicycle consolidation process, this has happened.
(plz ignore saddle / bar / lever positions - setup needs "dialing in")

  • noiiice, redshift review needed please..

  • i'll do a review after the test ride tomorrow.
i think @hippy has redshift experience?

  • I've only used the Redshift stem. I liked it. I bought another one for the Surly but I'm not allowed to ride yet. I was going to try their seatpost too but ended up buying a couple of used Cane Creek Thudbusters instead. One will probably go on the Surly and one might go on my partner's Sequoia.

I might stick an eeSilk on my (still unridden) Crux but to keep it nice and light (and mostly a road bike) I might reuse my VCLS split post on it. Dunno yet.

Cat looks disgusted, and rightly so

  • meow! look at that saddle angle!

  • the redshift bits came with the bike, i think i got a pretty good deal.
but damn, just looked at the weight for the seatpost!
    i hope it's comfy

  • My bits are on heavyish bikes anyway Tripster, Surly Ogre, etc.

    Comfort > Weight

  • I'm not too fussed, if I wanted lightweight I bought the wrong bike

  • Cheers bud. Must be a popular part of the world as an old MTB buddy commented on my Strava that I rode past the end of his mum's road in Woodhouse Eaves. As they say "It's a small world, until you lose your luggage".

  • I'm liking the tire setup. Was highly recommended from my local shop to achieve more traction and float on bumpy rough stuff. The tread looks fast rolling, I hope that they last a long time with the intention of doing 50/50 split between road and gravel for my winter commute.

  • thanks.
shakedown ride planned for tomorrow morning which will be a mix of road and offroad around the lanes and bridleways of leicestershire, before a bigger ride up to a YHA in the peaks towards the end of the month.

This is relevant to my interests for when visiting family. I've really struggled to find much good stuff in Leicestershire, particularly further south around Hinckley/Lutterworth/Earl Shilton kind of area.

I was actually looking at doing a ride towards Shackerstone (went to school in Market Bosworth so interested to go back). Looks like there's more options around there. Love that you went through Barton in the Beans. Always thought it was a wonderful name for a village.

Edit: sorry, was @MTB-Idle who did BITHB!
