Corduroy. The joggers of west london

I was thinking more elastic. A transitional trouser from my slobby state.

Big fan of the service works chefs trousers. three pairs in pretty frequent rotation. Lots of elastic still. But you won't find anything similar for the price. Folk drawstring were mo go to before SW. More than twice the price.
I have never and will never wear joggers though

Joggers? Draw string? I’m lost for words

Waist 34
Chest 42
Shoulders 60 -

That’s what I said. All through Covid working from home entirely. Always real waists and buttons. But the elastic pulls you in.

Maybe I’m missing something but those are normal chest/waist measurements.
This reminds me of the derek guy thread

I wouldn’t say I’m out of the ordinary. Just shirts are never slim enough
-
• #5835
As in the slimist of the main shirt makers are still too loose?
The TML "Fitted" seems pretty slim to me.
What happens if you have to sit down?

It’s normally when I’m sat down that they feel baggier

The closest off the peg I got was Reiss but a friend is a head cutter on the row and he got me a shirt made in Italy by the shirt makers they use and it’s a perfect fit, the best part is no tightness under the arms and no billowing muffin top as I have shoulders but a slim waist and long body so it’s a really long shirt which doesn’t come untucked.
Didn’t pay for this one but will be ordering some more when I can afford it. -

Wow. You sound like you are in excellent shape. Not very fashion, but I think going to a series of the main high st shirt makers and trying them out is your best bet. We're quite lucky in London, because there's far more choice than just Brooks Bros. One of them will do a slim fit that's the slimist. They also have a wider range of neck and sleeve sizes. If at that point something still needs taking in then buy a bulk of the closest and get them altered.

This sounds ideal! I’ve got big arms, chest and shoulders, small waist and wide hips. Literally never worn a tucked in shirt that didn’t billow and muffin top.

Bottom right looks better than top centre to me, though.

I enjoyed Arrested Development too.

With my current tummy. It's very much closer to my current* fit.
*not quite true as my current shirt was grabbed too quickly this morning and the buttons are holding on for dear life.

It was from here:
https://www.laboratoriodelcarmine.it/en/
Which I think is the MTM part but they have a shop too
https://ldcbergamo-shop.it/
But he did the measuring and ordering based off one of his shirts as his collar and shoulder width are the same and we adjusted the length with an extra placket button, waist, sleeve plus an extra cuff width for a watch.
I had the dark denim as that will fade to a pale blue over time, it’s a true denim not just blue fabric.
No idea of the ordering experience if you go direct though and how custom you can go. -

I literally came here to recommend the same two options!

slim fit shirts
Not something i would normally weigh in on as i only have one shirt in my wardrobe but the best cut i found on a high street shirt was from Ralph Lauren. Similar fit on me to that pink one. Branding is stitched in the same colour in a lightweight thread so barely visible.
Reiss shirts made me look like someone on a list.

Muji/Uniqlo? I found the chefs trousers too short.

I got some oversized shorts from universal works, unfortunately they are actually quite hard to wear as they basically look like you're in a pair of baggy basketball shorts.
slightly more tailored linen ones from arket were the winners this year.

Reiss have such weird sizing. Ive got stuff thats S, M and L from there. Even the L can be precariously slim fit. Thats with a 38/39 chest (48 euro size), and a 30/31 waist.

I’m same as you but 36 waist.
I buy M&S fitted 2 inch longer shirts and they’re perfect for my shape. Slim fit are too tight and regular a touch baggy.

I tried a load of Reiss shirts when trying to get something for a wedding. The variation was massive. They literally just told me to try a load on as they’re all cut so differently (and that was a single style that had such a big variation in fit).
Why do you need a super slim shirt?
What are your proportions ? Shoulder, chest, waist etc
