  • How did you get to the BMW dealer?

  • Wife dropped me off. Only 20 mins each way.

  • So not exactly free ;) worrying that a battery would fail so quickly

  • Fair. It's 15 miles each way at 3.5 miles per kWh.

8.57kWh at £0.07 per kW makes the total cost 59.99 pence.

    I'll take it. :-D

  • I picked this dolly up on Marketplace, less than a mile from home for £30. It had barely been used. I now need a centre stand dolly for the other bike. Awful camera photo, sorry.

  • Anyone got a Monkey?
Anyone with a 2022 Monkey with a plain black seat in good condition want to swap it out for an as new 23/24 tartan seat?

  • Is the Xr600r the best looking DS bike of the 80s? I think it might be.

  • I mean… if you hate on the OG version of the DR BIG it is.

  • My Lord - what's up with it ?

  • I do love an XT600 Ténéré... not that I'd be biased :)

  • Tenere is a league more DS than the XR600R too. XR is a dirt bike, if a bit of a tubster.

  • Anyone used the Dainese leg bag? Any good?

  • Don't get a CCM.

  • I looked at similar but thought they looked a bit tactical/ German tourist on a gs vibey .

I would also be very circumspect about having anything solid (keys, phones etc) against a major bone in case of an off which is kind of what those bags do - may be an old wives tail but we were told anything solid between flesh and tarmac would act like a hammer against the bone / flesh

  • That monkey is lovely, the seat is horrific though. Is there some particular reason Honda chose tartan?

  • Had am xl650r that had the wheels changed to make it more on road.

It was terrible, thirsty didn't handle well, when through chains quickly, but that could have been the 20plus previous owners who abused it in the past. The frame was dented and never sure it wasn't bent

    Was very cheap tho.

    What about the Transalp?

  • I always find them to be a bit too popular with Instagram motofluencers in leggings and Nike Dunks for me to want to add them to my own wardrobe... I'd be more inclined to a good old fashioned bumbag / fanny pack if you wanted to keep bits out of pockets but on your self?

  • It's not my preference either. It looks OK on the standard paint jobs as it adds a bit of interest. I think the tartan harks back to the original monkeys.

But on this bike the tartan is certainly overkill with the custom paint. I actually wanted a 2022 model in blue but this came up with a full system Yoshimura, a service plan included and a good price, so snapped it up. Picked it up last weekend with only 125 miles on the clock. Which I doubled in the first 3 days.

Really enjoying it and it's the perfect foil for my big(ger) bike. Did my first foray off road tonight.

Just need to find a black seat now...

  • Had to go to a biker funeral this morning. There was actually another biker fatality on the road there, so we detoured…. Along a green lane. Luckily I was on the DR350 and the friend on the dealership RE Guerilla 450.

  • I'm sure it was March that I was here complaining that motorbike life just wasn't for me...

I just bought a bike that's identical to my last, but with only 14k on the clock and 1 previous owner. Here we go again.
