  • a good idea, but opens the possibility of something saying it's 'classy'
    cant be having that

  • Carbon rims could balance the neo-retro silver vibe.
    Also, setback seatpost please !

  • setback seatpost please

    A reversed one, Gaston style?

  • I think most people are damning you with faint praise a lot less than you think they are.

  • just waiting on the crank tool to swap those over.
then just needs to qr skewers, fresh tyres (these Open Paves are worn) and, to set up the derailleurs. which I'm terrible at.
The frame fits these 27's on wide rims pretty comfortably but I think 28 will be the limit.
handlebar tape work is temporary, I swear. Not that it matters much I suppose.

I also remembered I had a spare set of standard King cages, which I'll try instead of the Iris which crush and squeeze the bottles quite badly.

  • saddle all the way forwards - always
    doctors orders

  • Looking good @samrensho

I've got some 26mm tyres for mine so hopefully the clearance works out!

  • Funny colour tan walls

  • absolutely here for the bike shot against bins!

  • temporary measures, comrade

  • Smart, in a fast, purposeful way. Green stripe flex is chefs kiss

imho a silver seatpost clamp would tie the room together without looking ‘classy’ (Edit: Abort - not if going tan walls!)

  • Oooh, are you using the cranks that I think you are??
Props for the (now timeless) wheelie bin bike pictures.

  • no! I believe those went to a different jackets member.
I did consider it though, as they are 165s…
I’m just using the Ultegras off my Canyon

  • It's not the damning Sam's worried about, it's approval. For those with a degree in a creative field, the only thing that isolates them from the nagging question of whether their father was right and if they should have gone for a degree that would get them a job is staunch belief in their non-conformism. The validation of those one looks down upon is worse than the worst criticism.

    Or maybe I'm just projecting.

  • Thanks for making me question my existence for the 5th time today

  • stop making bags and get into psychoanalysis
this is an accurate read of me

  • You didn’t have to go so hard, but you did. Everyone from the creative field just gave a collective shudder.
I teach kids creative stuff too so here’s to a whole school year of relentless non-conformism as a means of asserting the validity of what I’m teaching them.

  • Black on black (on silver) on black with those cranks would’ve looked banging!

  • It looks sweet as - I would really like one of those frames one day. I think the current wheels are exactly as they should be: 'training wheels' while also being basically all you could want out of an alloy wheelset. Purposeful etc

Ultimate antidote to the seatpost clamp q is to get a frame builder to do a braze on clamp and get it repainted lol

  • Rideable now
Need to get saddle position and stem length sorted
I have some turbo cottons ready to go on
need to finish this weekend at work before I can take it out

looks quite weird witht this stem

  • Nicely set up, rim brake slopestyle

  • anyone have a Thomson X2 in 110? black ofc
    thanks

feels good with 120 -17 funnily enough but want to try a few things

  • mint

  • Ignore frame pump
Can't risk it with these turbo cottons. Which I didn't realise how orange they were.. hopefully that fades.
I'm going to try a few stems before putting a nice one on.
