It was a British-flagged vessel. I don't know how the procedure works. There's probably more detail on the MAIB site. Bayesian is listed on it https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/marine-accident-investigation-branch-current-investigations/marine-accident-investigation-branch-current-investigations

Boeing keeps disappointing: it’s starliner capsule had so many failures that it’s been subbed out for Space X’ space capsule in the mission to return the astronauts on the ISS. I expect NASA aren’t too pleased about having to keep two additional people on the ISS until next Feb.
If it weren’t for US Govt backing, Boeing stock would surely have tanked by now. Funnily enough Airbus went up a bit.

It seems that Sam Bankman-Fried's victims haven't lost any money. In fact the bankruptcy proceedings recovered much more than the $8.7 billion which the creditors were owed. And he's got a 25 year sentence with no possibility of parole. He's being punished for risking other people's money without permission, but the risks paid off rather handsomely. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/interactive/2024/sam-bankman-fried-michael-lewis-ftx/?itid=hp_opinions_p002_f001

Can’t say I’m a fan of Crusty Alsopp but having social services called and an online backlash about her 15 year old going inter railing is nuts.
People need to get a grip and pull their heads out of their arses.

Exactly. The kid is more or less 16, I went away myself around that age. Sounds great. Good on her. I read an interview with her and it was very switched on, talked about real risks to young adults.

Unite’s plan is for a tax of 1% to be applied on the assets of those worth more than £4m, which it says would raise £25bn a year to fund investment in public services and avoid a return to austerity. Under the plan, someone with assets worth £6m would face a 1% tax on the £2m above the £4m threshold. These assets would include property, shares and bank accounts but would not include mortgaged property.
Unite points to research showing that the richest 50 families in the UK now have assets worth nearly £500bn.

To be honest the only error Alsopp has made is mentioning it in social media. If she'd kept her mouth shut her son would have had a great trip with no problems. FYI I would happily let my 15yo do a similar trip

With you on that. I did it, i would let my kids do it.
Most of the twats complaining would probably (i assume...) let their kids drive cars at age 17 (as would i), which i suspect is a far more risky experience -

That simplifies things a bit...i seem to remember that if the investments had been in crypto assets as had been promised, customers would be well ahead, instead they've got their money back at the value they invested...situation could have been v different if the crypto market had tanked during this period.

Tbf I’d happily let my 7-yr old do it. But it’s been a long summer holiday and he’s really getting on my tits by now.
