  • Quite happy with the 1st set installed, I went to work on the other hoods. Et voila, I call it ill-diablo cockpit. The name is a tribute to my step dad who was from Ecuador. I'm happy to report that the set on the Vig' didn't slip or move under normal riding conditions. Time will tell if the pipe clamps are sufficient. Pics gripping hoods,drops and top

  • According to the Cannondale officials on site, the fork has been identified as a caad 12. Interestingly, the frame geometry looks much steeper... I don't have any experience riding one so can't verify how much difference handling would be. The og Vigorelli fork has the same 45 degree rake and longer leg length to crown which would explain the sensation of feeling lower to the ground. Entertained by watching YouTube reviews for setup cues

  • After falling into the rabbit hole of frame/fork geometry comparisons, I've discovered that Caad 12 and Super six evo are the same with slightly different seat stay junctions... Happy thoughts while out on the road. Showing off the carbon steer tube with a Race face stem. still on the fence about running brakes

  • While browsing through pics of straight blade crown forks I stumbled across these on the weekend. I called the store to confirm the details and voila. I hope it brings a smile. Thought I would add I'm no stranger to this shape of fork.

  • For the cinelli?

  • The Vig' has been alot of fun with the Caad fork but I have concerns about durability of carbon steer tubes... I would like to use the All-City fork this fall/winter and switch back to the lighter Cannondale fork in warmer dryer climate. Last Thursday's nocturnal ride group had us trekking through uneven terrain and gravel. My lack of confidence felt limiting due to the front fork/skinny tire combination. Gonna upsize the front tire for more comfort and peace of mind in the bumpy stuff.

  • It's a good time for rain while the Vig' s in the shop awaiting headset parts to adapt the fork. Gonna wheel the mini in the meantime.

  • While wifey was out with her mom and sister, I had free time to play... 48/22 should be fun in light single track/gravel.. little bit worried about cleanup after the trail, knobbies always take a while. Luckily the sun dried up the ground nicely.

  • Passed by the shop to pick up the wheel/tire combination for a quick mock up... Ran out of room on the crabonz fork... Still waiting on the headset parts to arrive at the end of the week.. it would have made a difference on yesterday's adventure through a more textured terrain than concrete.... I'm gonna run 32 psi tubeless babeyyy

  • With the Cinelli at the shop, I couldn't help previewing the geometry. Nature boy has slightly relaxed head tube/seat tube angle with a higher stack height... Guess I'll take the Bomber out for a lap

  • What's a brake less fixie skidder to do about trying to extend the life of back tires?

  • Was it worth the weight penalty swapping a fully carbon fork for a fully steel fork? A resounding yes is my answer. Whatever uphill losses because of weight is easily mitigated by the added confidence and feel of planing in the flat. It's as though there is more rebound energy returning from every pedal stroke. Feels taller and longer which gives me more confidence when leaning through downhill turns. It's only been a day, WoW

  • Curious to see this with the 650b wheel now!

  • Probably gonna wait to swap to 650b front wheel when the mash rack gets mounted. I've ordered a 44t chainring to pair up with a 19t rear cog for a sweet 2.3 gear ratio this winter... To assimilate in the meantime, I've mounted the 51t sg75 ring flipped (to dumb it down) with the 22t cog.. Wanted to see how tan wall tires would suit aesthetics.

  • Probs best to get rid of those elastic straps. They can snap and take your eye out. There are safer options out there (old inner tubes/ ski straps etc)

  • I was considering that after a weight test, they started to stretch out. I will add an old inner tube for support to stabilize it better. Thanks for the suggestion

  • Went out to test the 650b in some wet road conditions... Came home with a fender. Had to move it from underneath the crown bridge to the down tube because of tire rub. Now I can run 700c front tire as well

  • Would it be possible to fit a wider rear tyre too if you add s chainlink?

  • To answer your question, I don't believe it's possible to exceed the current limits... I can run a 32c gatorskin with paper thin clearance at max. It has truly softened up the front end without sacrificing speed/direct input from the back. There is definitely more float and added confidence rolling over big puddles without too much drag. It does however feel like the front wants to correct itself under sharp turns because of the lower tire pressure/side treads on the tire. There were moments when it felt like the front tire wanted to roll off the rim at higher cornering speeds but that was expected due to lower tire pressure. I plan to ride some gravel paths tomorrow to experience how much quicker it will be then the mini'lo
