Does this mean we have cuddly Joe back again?

Sorry, I'm not following. 😎

Let's remember that not all Aussies are white supremacists. But it's nice to be able to put a precise percentage figure on just how many are.
-
• #1655
I think the numbers are actually far higher than the polls suggest. It's pretty fucking racist out here. It's the only thing I hate about this country.

Lived a year in Australia and had a great time, made good friends but definitely came away with the feeling it was more intrinsically racist than Scotland, for instance.
Met a woman through my work who mentioned this referendum was taking place and took a good half an hour for her to explain it. I dont think I understood in the end.
It seemed that there needed to be a referendum to determine whether the population believed that Aboriginal people could have the same rights as the rest? Wasn't really clicking in my brain....that cant be right.

My mother-in-law voted no, when questioned by my other half it turned out she didn't understand what the referendum was actually about. She was mortified when she found out the facts, Fox News is always on in their house, small wonder she voted the way she did.

Oh man.

Yeah. And it wasn't.
The referendum was whether there would be a constitutional change to facilitate an Aboriginal and first nations body with an advisory (but not binding) function to parliament.
The "no campaign" and right wing press and social media channels started twisting this into all sorts of untrue messages, ultimately resulting in tropes like "aboriginal people will try and take away your backyard".

With the "no" win, the right wing loons were all over twitter claiming it was a win against the "elites", like the aboriginals are the elites...

Blackfullas advising Parliament on decisions that will only affect blackfullas. Nope, still way too much power for white Aussies.
It's the very definition of white supremacy. At least they've outed themselves, no hiding now.

What’s Matt Richardson’s beef with Australia? Gets three Olympic medals for them, then switches nationality to ride for GB from September.
-
• #1663
People usually swap nations when they're not selected for a race they think they should be. See also Shane Perkins riding for Russia.
Although in your man's case He was born in Maidstone and "Richardson has decided the time is right to return to the UK to live permanently"

🎣

But the truth of the matter is, he had to leave because none of his medals were gold.

“ He was born in Maidstone”
Poor chap. -
• #1668
Is that why he pukes so often after going (all) out?
-
• #1669
Bet its just financial. British cycling has a huge budget relatively speaking, especially as sports funding is skewed towards events that team gb likely to be medal winners.

Wow, a lot of posts to back up the premise in the title, didn't realise it was a thing, but on reflection, fair enough.
Good looks?
Superior sporting ability?
The fact that they are a rising nation, rich in natural resources and not some has-been empire, still clinging to the idea that they used to rule the world by destroying foreign lands and cultures? We've had a bit of ped bashing today, as well as the usual thoughts on drivers, what do you cunts think?
I've long thought our defining characteristic is our ability to piss everything we have going for us up against a wall at the speed of sound... That's why I hate us. Corporate vultures fucking love us though.
We take everything for granted, and constantly sleepwalk into worse and worse timelines. We're gullible and apathetic as fuck.

You really can have it too good, but for most Australians everything still isn't enough.
It really is paradise. Apart from the white supremacy, wholesale environmental destruction, widespread apathy, corporate laziness, idiotic parochial governance and deeply entrenched sense of white entitlement. It's perfect.
I love and hate it in equal measure but there is nowhere else in the world like it. You can make a great life here with very little effort, it's been getting harder since covid but it's still amazing.

If they allow you in, which is far from straightforward.

Fuck off we're full, goes the bumper sticker

And the immigration system.

“It really is paradise.”
Did produce Succulent Chinese Meal man (RIP) though which is a cultural highlight.
Ah, but I don't care anymore! CBD is great.
