I can't help but think of this whenever I see anything with Shaftesbury on it

The hooligans are loose! The hooligans are loose! What if they become ruffians?

Another one of the rare crashes of trams into buildings, Oslo this time:
A tram that derailed in downtown Oslo then ploughed into a phone and computer shop left four people injured, though none seriously, Norwegian police have said.
There were about 20 people on the commuter train when it came off the tracks on Tuesday at an intersection on Storgata, one of the Norwegian capital’s main thoroughfares close to Oslo’s main train station.

Matthew Wootten, 44, was at the wheel of a car which he deliberately drove into the entrance of the country retreat
Sounds like he actually chose it.

Quite impressed that there was car on its roof over in Gipsy Hill awhile back considering its 20MPH that's quite some feat.

The video makes it look as if he deliberately drove towards them, as he takes the slight bend before the driveway from Missenden Road correctly and then steers towards the gates.
If he'd just come straight out of the bend, it would have looked as if he had just failed to see it, but yes, it does look deliberate. However, he was pissed, so that obviously does funny things to intentionality ...

The one on the roundabout just past the pedestrian crossing? definitely a ‘how the fuck did they manage that’
20mph? LOL people must think it’s 40 so 50’s ok. -

I cycle that road a lot, pretty difficult turning into Chequers thinking it was a regular road, you would need to be very pissed to not see the massive gates.
They must have repaired them quickly as I never saw them smashed up. Will have to check Strava for the first time I went past after the crash

Yeah that's the one

Doesn't take much to flip a car over. This one doesn't make it all the way, but the effect still seems disproportionate to the speed involved.

Bet you do it in your racing games all the time. :)

The physics in most games can't deal with that situation at all.

They have really strong recycling bins in Spain, although a bit too small in this case.
-
• #1322
This is true.
Although rather than being a limitation of the physics I reckon it's a deliberate way to avoid what to do with cars that end up on their side or roof.

The incident comes after internet pranksters began leaving positive reviews for the chain in a bid to stop their favourite London steakhouses being swamped by tourists.
Another bus, this time crashing into a more high-profile target, although it doesn't seem to have hit the actual building, just the awning at the side:
