The UK ones are like hot embrocation. I got whacked with some Polish ones though and they brought welts out on my skin. I'm more annoyed with the blackberry thorns ripping my clothing or whatever.

Must be psychological then, you know what's coming so it doesn't register as much.

Talking of which, I have found the more I don't think about the sting the lesser the effect.

There's defo a couple different types up here in Scotland, the most common ones I'm fine with but every so often you get complacent then catch one of the ubernettles and you really know about it.
The gorse is pretty bad at the moment I'm finding. Or maybe it's just the riding I'm doing. Started off semi enjoying riding through it the other day in a masochistic, acupuncture-y kind of a way then I wasn't in it at all for a bit and when I went back into it, oh fuck man, so much worse than before!

I'm in so much less pain when I ride with long trousers, which is kinda fucked when you only get a few weeks of "summer" and I've spent most of that broken.

Exhibit A;
A Norfolk bridleway this afternoon, with added How narrow! bridge.
The bike is just stood up on its own, it didn’t move when I got off.
My legs are now of fire and blood.

Komoot really does take the word "bridleway" loosely.

That looks exactly like a bridleway to me, horse riders are nice and high, they don’t care about water

#69? There's life in the old dog yet!

Luckily this was on the last leg with 40km to go. So I waded on through like the horse I am.

Is that a moody Quadlock? I ask because I recently bought one but I'm trepidatous about sticking the female part to my phone only to see it career off on a rocky descent.
I had thought about purchasing an actual real life quad lock phone case on the hope that they would play nice together.
It rather negates the cheap and cheery approach to phone handlebar retention though...
I'm basically asking if it works ok?

The many faces of English Bridleways.
Does not include the downhill rutted SFAB section that concluded with mild concussion and potential cracked rib.

I think that really short rocky field side bridleway in the first pic gets everyone by surprise on their first trip round the new forest

Ha, gold star! I've been on a few trips there, but first time on that section. Very tight and plenty of stinging nettles. No way you're getting a horse down there! Was great fun tbf, and a highlight of a pretty mega day.

Yeah it's a knock off.
It's been absolutely fine for the 3 days smashing round lanes and bridleways.

750D ? Yeah you can fuck right off
I’m already immune from coming into contact with those guys by virtue of not working in finance and not having a Soho House membership… oh and by not being a wanker. Same same I guess.
