The thing I find odd about Thiel is that if you look at his childhood, his experiences and things he liked would suggest he'd be more liberal in his views but he seems to have taken a right-turn at some point during highschool (big Reagan fan apparently) and stayed on that path.

No cock-ups as far as I'm aware. I think she's channeling a bit of Obama's hope strategy and appealing to independent and undecided voters.
