The source of a toxic chemical spillage affecting a 12-mile stretch of canals in the West Midlands has been identified, a council has said.

Sodium cyanide, which can cause seizures, vomiting and loss of consciousness, was confirmed as the chemical spilled into the waterway in Walsall on Tuesday.

................. what are the bets on a water company dumping untreated waste into a waterway ? how does cyanide get even close to our environment in this day and age

  • cyanide is used in making loads of things, like paper and textiles. Also used in electroplating. Lots of dodgy businesses out there cutting corners.
