  • I find it difficult to rationalise giving a free house to a rioter/bigot/thief/insert crime of choice. Especially those with multiple previous convictions.
    I’m paying a mortgage but if I got banged up for 2yrs I’d definitely be on the streets after release.

    A safe place to sleep should absolutely be a human right, your own private home for nowt? Not sure.

  • The men being given prison sentences for rioting that were living in council houses are very likely to be living with their family, since single men are way down a very long list, so if you kick them out you also make a family homeless. The punishment is the prison sentence.

  • And if a mortgage person's family can't afford to pay the mortgage and become homeless, is that fair?

    What if they are renting on the open market..housing benefit won't pay nor universal credit.

  • So if I got jailed for rioting the government should pay my mortgage so my family don’t go without?
