Instead of replacing the wheel could you get a 9 speed cassette and do an 8 of 9 on 7? I'm still running 3 x 7 and am happy with the range, but have considered doing this for better cadence.
I don't think I can. The hub is set up for 7 speed (30mm?) and there is no spacer behind the cassette can be removed.
I could go about replacing the free hub, but after all the work etc it's pribabjust better to source a new wheel with 8 speed + compatibility.
