Tyrwhitts have been spamming the fuck out of my email recently. Maybe see if there is something left and any discount codes knocking around.

To be fair, I am a groomsman so "linen shirt and not swimming shorts" isn't overly restrictive. Not as bad as the full black tie wedding I'm off to in a few months anyway.

Uniqlo have done a run of cheap linen shirts before, style is probably more normal rather than Cuban collar though
-

The John lewis linen guayabera mentioned before is quite nice but not sure of the quality of the materials and how it will hold up.
30%linen 70% viscose though -

That ain’t a linen shirt.
That’s like a pair of socks I ordered once, labeled as Alpaca.
23% Alpaca that is. -

Uniqlo has Cuban collar linen at the moment.
As mentioned above Brixton TK Maxx had a load of linen-esque Folk stuff last time I was there.

The TK folk ones were nice 👍

I’m struggling for hats this summer. I bought a new Panama for Chelsea flower show. The hat looks great, but in super hot weather it turns my hair into a sweaty mess.
Are there panamas that have more ventilation or looser (sp) weave to allow the moisture out?

If you’re looking for practical I can recommend the Patagonia Quandary. It makes you look like an Aussie lifeguard but after getting frazzled on a recent walking break I decided I couldn’t give a fuck and it’s genuinely brilliant. I draw the line at buying some Oakley eye jackets though.

I can't stand anything on my head since early tweens, same goes for shorts in an urban environment.
I reckon I need at least 20 more years and some old money inheritances before I'll contemplate a Panama. Basically the gentlemen in the back of your picture. -

Google vented Panama hat and you’ll find something. Not sure how much difference it’ll make though.

Fuck linen.
Seriously. -

I wear hats, have a decent panama for summer weddings but a cheaper straw type trilby with a coarse weave is cooler, the bamboo tropic hats by kangol are ok too.
as above add ‘vented’ to your google search, there’s plenty out there.

For now.

Depends on where you live I guess. For me it’s an absolute must. For work I wear pretty much seersucker or linen shirts only these days. I’m not going to subscribe myself to the lifetime membership in the golf club thread just yet by disclosing what I do nowadays.

Any there any decent cheap linen suits around. I don’t want to spend a lot in case I don’t wear it. The M&S ones are polyester blend, which is disappointing.

The M&S ones are polyester blend
Definitely a blend and not polyester lining?
I got one off ebay then spent £70 on fitting. So £100 all in.

I bought an m&s linen suit for a summer wedding and it seemed decent for the money.
