  • Leadville vs. shitty English lanes hmm not quite sure they're dead yet.

  • Does anyone have a Crux blanking plate for the downtube? Or, does anyone happen to know what product code it is?

Running Di2, the cable goes into the frame with the hydro line so the entry in the top of the downtube isn't needed.

  • My Marin Muirwoods after a weekend gravel ride, the setup handles the rough paths around here quite well.

  • I like what you've done with the place!

  • You need an All Road bike. Wrong thread.

  • I thought we had that covered by 'groad' ?

  • S186500003. Certini have them

Regarding your wheels chat for Crux, I bought 2 pairs of Roval Terra CLs. One set has 40mm Challenge Strada Bianches and the other 45mm Pirelli Cinturatos. 2 mins to swap wheels, just pull cassette off and move over. Now sold my road bike and just use Crux for road and gravel.

  • Champ!

Ha! £17.80 ffs hippy's standard black electrical tape it is then! :D

2 x £1400 is a bit spendy for my liking. I'm tempted to give LightBicycle another chance but really I'm lazy and will probably just wait for some used shit to crop up.

  • You can get the CLs for <£1k but yes not cheap. Having same hub and being able to swap cassettes quickly and tool free is key, otherwise I’d never bother.

  • I just run the same size cassette on my road and gravel wheels and swap the whole wheel - are you pulling the whole freehub body off for a fast change? That's a neat idea I've just never had two pairs of the same wheel to do it :)

I could give my missus the purple Hope 650Bs and get myself a new set and do the hub dance.

  • Yeah, with DT Swiss you can pull off whole cassette inc free hub and move it over. Push on till it clicks and put wheel in bike.

As it’s the same hub it means the gears are sure to line up with the derailleur trim. I occasionally just have to trim one click or maybe 2 once on the road to eliminate a little clicking.

  • Yeah, I have DT Swiss on the Mason. Hope hub is the same principle on the gravel wheels (I know coz I dropped the cassette on my foot when I was washing it once). Just not the same hub brand so obvs can't swap mine. Mine might need a bit of a bump on the DI2 but I'm pretty used to it.

  • Does anyone have a Crux blanking plate for the downtube?

Will check later tonight, nudge me if I forget

  • Full YOLO spec.

  • how much does it change the geometry?

  • how much does it change the geometry?

    Lo, yo.

  • Sorry to be so gauche but how much were these all in after customs charges?

  • A smidge over £400.

The theory goes; if they suck and ruin the crux for me they'll go well on eBay for about that.

@sohi what's a geometry? It's a good question and one I'll only be able to answer once fitted and correctly sagged. Couple of CM a-c in it at full extension, though the offset is greater forward.

  • No dice, Certini must have kept that for themselves. Sorry to keep you hanging

  • no worries, appreciate you looking.

  • 8 months later... It's basically built now... just in time for me to not be able to ride it for another month?

In the end it got the bar-end junction and alu bars (got some fitted-to-a-stem but unused 42cm PRO PLT carbon bars for sellz) instead of the 5-port under-stem for aerobars. Will probably buy that overpriced Di2 cover for the downtube for it but I'm complain about it forever.

Might have some posh road wheels lined up for it but for now it can gather dust inside instead of outside.
