Anyone know if the Topstone with the kingpin thing on the back can take full fenders? It doesn't look like it should due to the flex, but they seem to have the mounts...

Can anyone help me to identify a Cannondale branded fork I bought off marketplace? I recon it's from around 2017 era... It was advertised as a 1 1/8 to 1 1/4 tapered steer tube. Unwilling to cut my original factory steer tube short enough to slam the stem, this seemed to be a cheaper solution then buying new. Quite happy with the mock up.. just has to have a compression plug installed

By George I think you've got it. Thanks, I had faith that someone here would spot it. I appreciate your help with identifying it's origins... I prefer the look of the thinner legs over the shape that came stock from the factory.

are you sure it works correctly? i'm positive that the original columbus fork is 1 1/2 and this cannondale is 1 1/4

Nice nice nice.

Yeah OG fork is 1.5 but it can work if bearing angles are the same. I ran the same fork on my Dart with a 1.5 Hope lower cup. Was fine but a bit gappy for grime.

Absolutely would not recommend this. Sounds sketch as fuck.
You might be able to find a reducer lower cup

Btw thanks for this but I fear I need 54 :-(

Not suggesting the OP should do it but just commenting that i ran a very similar combo and was fine for several years including plenty of off road stuff. I used the lower spec CAAD12 alloy steerer model but tried it briefly with the exact same fork as above and it worked the same. I've gone back to the OG 1.5 fork (as should the OP!) and neither bearing or cup have suffered.

Thanks for debunking the idea... This experiment with the chopped fork might convince me to take the leap slamming the stem on the original. If a reducer cup is more expensive then what it's worth, I might just find a cheap replacement fork to chop instead of the original one. Thanks again for your insights.

Little trip to france with my caad. I swapped stem, seatpost and bar for some silver Ritchey Classics and went with shallow wheels, which i think suits it much better than deeper carbon rims. As a bonus its just really nice to ride;)

Got it finished up last night, first ride on it tonight. Absolutely crying out for some deep wheels, but these will do for now.
