The frame is here !! 🎉
It's beautiful, I can't wait to put it together. But for now, it's already repacked to be shipped to the painter.
I've been muling over paint jobs for an embarrassing amount of time. Going back and forth with multiple options.

So I won't disclose anything right now, as I might change my mind again tonight.

Let's try to keep this thread alive.
Life got in the way, lost a lot of time, but the frameset is at the painter as we speak.

I'm still gathering parts for the build so I don't lose more time once the frame comes back.

In today's shipment - very expensive wires and a handful of connectors.

This will be the colourway. Metallic black with Porsche-silver lettering.

I just received the frame back from the painter. Much excite!
Pics to follow.

Very pleased with the paintjob. Super deep metallic black, yet very glittery when the light hits.

First job of the day : Re-tap all the threads to make sure that the numerous inserts aren't clogged by paint.
Most of them were actually fine, the painter did a good job of protecting threads and surfaces. Which is good, as my tap is a pain to use (especially inside the main triangle).
How come there aren't any ratchet-type tap holders?

Onto wiring.
Fork is easy enough, frame required a bit more work. Son coaxial wire is now in.
Attached is a small schematic of what I'm trying to achieve.

Frame and fork are permanently wired, and then I'll have the option of having the front light either on the rack or directly on the fork, and the rear wire either on the fender or on the chainstay.
So I'll be soldering coaxial connectors near the bottom bracket and fork crown to easily disconnect the lights.

ratchet-type tap

Normally you turn anti clockwise a bit after every turn or couple of turns to break the material that you cut. So a ratchet won't work that well and won't give you much feeling with what you're doing

But ratchets are reversible.
Actually, just having a tool-holder with smaller arms would work for small size threads. If you need the leverage, there's usually something very wrong.

The build itself will be function-oriented, nothing too fancy.
Most parts will be transfered from my trusty Pelago.

This is true. Traumatic when I see my secondary school students cranking down on a tap (usually a die though tbf)

Off chance that's a set of post mount Hylex and you're moving to flat mount, I'd be interested.

They are PM yes, but I plan to reuse the levers. You wanted the whole kit or calipers only?
