Hehe, I know, it’s one of those “it’s getting late, just 20 more minutes” -> 3 hours later…

I loved Control, it was such a good game and you're right about the atmosphere etc. I nearly got every achievement, there was a few I missed and some glitches in the DLC as well.

Finished Talos Principle 2, and it was a bit meh. That's probably unfair, because my hopes were high based on expecations from the first game and its DLC, but it was disapponting in comparison. Technically and thematically, it's more ambitious than the original, but it doesn't deliver the way the first game did.

Whoever mentioned Dredge on here recently, thanks!
Its on the PSN library so installed it yesterday, enjoying it so far, loads of questions being asked that I need to know the answers to! -
• #29456
Dredge is excellent. Not tried the DLC though.
I've moved onto Disco Elysium, and after a few hours I can't tell if I absolutely love it, or absolutely hate it. (Particularly after dying really early and realising that the autosave is not very often!)
Parkitect on consoles is dreamy too, the controls work well and it's got real RCT vibes. Resisting getting lost in it for now.

I got a pal that thinks Disco Elysium is perfection.
I keep meaning to install it. -
• #29458
Much prefer disco Elysium to dredge.
I love cosmic horror/Lovecraft etc but it just got about boring imo.
-
• #29459
FYI Disco Elysium is better pirated, the IP of the game was essentially stolen by an investor, no one orignally involved in it gets any money from it now.
In other news - I love Dave the Diver, cant wait to finish work so i can play more!
-
• #29460
Oh that's a bit shit. I got it for about £5 on an Xbox sale.
Maybe I can PayPal them some cash or something.
I wish Dave the Diver was on Xbox.

I can't get on with Disco Elysium, I honestly don't see what everyone else seems to see. I just don't find anything about it interesting or exiting.
-
• #29462
In total agreement. I've tried and tried but I just keep waiting for it to get good. For all the 'fantastic writing' claims I just don't care about any of the characters except maybe the partner and I feel like the game is constantly encouraged to pie off.

Jusant is quite magical and a pretty good climbing game (if you're not a purist masochist). Maybe a little short - wouldn't have objected to an extra chapter, particularly since level design is one of the strengths.
Quite randomly, I'm suddenly wishing the makers of Jusant and Dredge could get together. I think Jusant's mechanics would work quite well in a quirky horror-themed climbing game. There aren't enough (any?) of those.
The video of the making of "A difficult game about climbing" is a hoot.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQ_Te-uaPRw

Armored Core VI is on sale on steam. 30% off.

Been loving Cave Story lately.

I'm deep into SOVL right now. Free on Steam, basically an oldschool Warhammer simulator with legally distinct factions and a roguelike campaign. Sucked me right in.

Fallout 4 London mod is out.
Seems to require GOTY edition. I've only got the standard and not sure I can be bothered with the faff even though it's pretty cheap. Will wait and see what people think of it.

Fired up the ps5 to play Dave the Diver, games now have 'Start acrivity' and 'play game'. What's the difference? Not overly clear on Google searches.
-
• #29470
I think (not 100%) the Start Activity loads a specific point, like your last save, rather than loading the main page, where you would then load the save you want.
Gets you into the game quicker.

Ah gotcha! Thanks.

My Series X is sat around not being used, and unlikely to be.
Anyone looking to buy one for a decent price? Includes two controllers, cables, original box. All working perfectly.
-
• #29473
Has it got a weird plug?
-
• #29474
It's a 3 pin traditional UK plug if that's what you're asking?
-
• #29475
That is what I was asking, not that it's particularly important.
I hate you for bringing this to my attention.
Nothing personal, I'd have felt the same if anyone else had.
