Might be the photos. From my experience, the GS hands catch the light in a way that makes their watches very legible. Just really well executed polishing, I guess.

One of my friends was offered a GMT by an AD a couple of days ago, unfortunately it was the rose gold one which is spectacularly ugly , he only had a small window of opportunity to say yes, so he passed on it

The root beer is somehow so much better than the other two tone yellow gold versions though

New watch is here, 1978 Seiko, thanks for the help in selecting it. Should be good on watches for the near future.

Very classy

Yeah the photos are kind of blown out. The dial is a slightly sandier colour than that IRL and the polished hands will pop off it, but as with GS generally, the reflections are quite eye-catching and would never be as legible at a glance as something with a matte dial and painted hands.

Yep. I don't like rose gold or two tone but honestly for me it's the second best GMT-II variant after the new black & grey steel one.
