  • My partner is annoyed it's not affecting her personally, but is affecting lots of her company.

  • I just want to know if it’ll disrupt the TdF livestream later given it seems to have affected Sky and CBBC channels :(

  • Fuck yeah, been at desk since 5.30, but fuckers haven't included me in the fun. Wondering how many of my 'affected' colleagues have just seen the news and decided to swing the lead.

Nice of whoever's doing it (if it's an attack) to pick a sunny Friday though.

  • ASO being French, probably have a Minitel back up service.

  • Is it Skynet? Do I need to go and hold on to a fence at a playground overlooking the city?

  • (if it's an attack)

More than likely it was just incompetence by Crowdstrike.

Will be an interesting post-incident-report if they choose to publish such a thing.

  • Hat’s off to Bossman @Velocio

While major corporations have tech outages lfgss carries on

  • That sounds like you logged on bitd.

  • usually, I would be annoyed that my IT is not affected.
But I am busy and want to fuck off at 12 so needed this morning to get stuff out the door.
Rare moment that ADP isn't shitting the bed, so will take the small win

  • Our work document management system and all our BIM stuff is down.

  • What's going on in Leeds?

  • What's going on in Leeds, Leeds, Leeds?

Disorder/rioting resulting from police taking children into care. Police car flipped over, riot police attacked, bus set on fire.

  • And why such a high level of disagreement about this particular family?

  • DOn't admit that.

"I can't do anything. I'll be back tomorrow"

  • I'm not claiming NSPCC (or whoever it was) are doing everything right. But having grown up in less than ideal circumstances myself, my sympathy is never on the parents' side in such cases. Unless there is some very clear evidence to the contrary I'd say fuck the mobs trying to prevent the civil servants doing their jobs.

  • fuck the mobs trying to prevent the civil servants doing their jobs.

Nothing says ‘reasonable, healthy parenting’ like encouraging a mob to attack the police and set public property on fire.

  • I'm not claiming NSPCC (or whoever it was) are doing everything right.

The NSPCC doesn't take children into care, it'll be social services.

  • Is the Crowdstrike Falcon thingy only affecting business users?

  • It's unlikely personal users will have Crowdstrike Falcon installed.

It's generally installed to satisfy a compliance requirement for corporate environments.

  • The ICJ didn't hold back. Wow.

And to think it's getting hidden due to internet access issues.

  • Cynical take:

The IT outage and Biden’s candidacy will overshadow the ICJ ruling news. If Gaza does jump into the spotlight again, it’ll be taken away as soon as Biden steps down, or major Democratic players like Pelosi publicly say he should step down.

  • Meanwhile in Bangladesh, student protests against a quota system for government jobs have erupted into days of violence. The government set riot cops, military units, and even anti-terrorism special forces against the students, with shots being fired yesterday. Over 100 have been killed and over 1000 injured.
