Yeah it's one off about 10 miles, not cargo bike. Google showed someone strap it to the rear rack. I wondered if someone here would have a better idea or confirm that would be fine.

Triggered by the carbon offsetting chat in Boycott Everything...
I'm increasingly having to travel for work, which involves a lot of flights. I've pushed for train travel for European options but it's refused as typically significantly more expensive.
Other than changing my job, which feels counter intuitive as some other poor sod would have to schlep across the globe instead, are there any effective things people do in similar situations to reduce their climate impact?
Emissions through travel are already included in the businesses net zero plan, but I've not huge faith in it and would rather try to take control myself where I can.

You could consider volunteering with, or part-funding a local conservation group.

I've just built a wheel using a NOS Shimano CB-E110 hub that is missing its nuts. From Shimano's exploded view diagrams I know it's a 3/8" axle, and the part number for the nuts is Y28615000. From googling I've found that this axle has 24tpi threads while pretty much every other hub with a 3/8" axle uses 26tpi.
Nowhere I'm familiar with has Y28615000 in stock, and I'd rather the fancy nuts with a captive spinning flange.
Where has nice 3/8" 24tpi wheel nuts?

Just seen this - have you managed to borrow one? If not, I've a Saris Bones 3 bike rack you're welcome to borrow. I'm in Beckenham, so pretty local to you.

Do you actually need to travel? Pre-covid I would be travelling worldwide maybe 30% of the year. During COVID we discovered we could do a lot of that remotely and although it was slightly less efficient there was a saving on travel expenses to offset against that. As a result I've barely travelled since.

WiFi mesh discs which ones for bt hub?
£10 a month subscription is a bit daft. -

Depends for what purpose.
For travel one can deploy the military or ranger roll.
For don’t give a fuck just scrunch it up and throw in a drawer.
For some fucks given shake out creases and line dry and then fold.
Want to make a good impression iron and then fold or possibly put on a hanger

Yeah, that's a really good shout. I already donate a bit to environmental/green causes, but getting out and doing something would definitely feel more worthwhile.

I was asking tongue in cheekily; don't really get why y'all don't just dry your shirts on hangers (and keep them on hangers) - I mean it's super easy and pretty much creasy free and everything 💁

There's a lot of answers to mesh stuff in the "99 problems wi fi" thread.

Nine times out of ten I definitely don't need to travel, but there's a perception in the business that face to face is better for building relationships with clients (I work in a services business), and in some cases the clients specify it.
I appreciate stopping the emissions before they start is definitely best, and I'm aware of the petro roots of the idea of individual responsibility for carbon footprints, but are there any effective methods of offsetting personal emissions people use? Or is the whole offsetting industry a bit of a greenwashing scam?

Where has nice 3/8" 24tpi wheel nuts?
America, e.g. https://www.porkchopbmx.com/swivel-washer-bmx-bicycle-track-axle-nut-3-8-x-24t.html
Might be worth hunting around the parts bin of a shop which was involved in BMX in the olden days, if there's one near you that's still in business.

Could try Alan's in Wigan, that's not too far from you right?

Yeah their website didn't list any so it would be in the dusty workshop drawer if they have them. The wheel is going in a Raleigh Bomber that has a retro AlansBMX sticker on it.

Repairing a toaster; am I a mug for considering it?
(Reasons I suspect so; it may not be obvious what the fault is, and more pertinently, it draws a lot of power so any cackhanded-ness on my behalf might cause a bigger issue)

The visa mascots via Google pay. How can I find out if these are physical mascots they'll ultimately post to me, or are they just shit graphics that are going to clog up my digital wallet?
Cheers.

Where do people get things chromed these days?
Specifically this (about 10cm long):
Looking for a Narrow wide 110BCD chainring in silver - pref in the UK. Are there any decent options around £30?
I have black ano, guess I could strip and polish it just a bit of a long process
