Foot rests are from Ali express, they just thread on to the exposed axle (after the nut locks wheel in place). Sturmey archer is some silly size like 3/8. Readily available though.
Fork was a burly 1 1/8 disc fork I had knocking about. I have another similar tonk boi here somewhere that would do the job I think. Could sell for cheap if it is suitable and you would like to do the same.
Seat is a piece of wood, topped with a dense foam then upholstered with outdoor seating textile. Anything would do really.
It’s mounted to the rack with pipe clips that I screwed into the wooden base. I used four and it works great. Nothing to stop you adding more though.
Brakes are drum brake rear, 180mm disc rotor and shimano deore 2 pot on front
It’s v solid and nice to ride. Have done some pretty big trips with partner on the back. I’ve even had my brother as pillion, he’s about 90kg 😀
For a child I would be v tempted to put in some sort of separator between their feet and the spokes.
If you can get your hands on a charge steamer they are very capable, i got this frameset for £20 ish and spent another £100 or so fixing it up and putting a seat on it and its a great people carrier. all Passengers so far have loved it!
also ugly enough i don't really worry about it getting knicked. Here's an old pic, got a front basket now so it's even more functional ;-)
