What’s the fit like with those? I have wide feet which means the Solovairs I bought recently aren’t working for me, and have been eyeing up some 2nd Michael or Chambord Paraboots as a replacement…

• #9553
Cheers, I wondered if it was you selling!

I'd say the Michael are certainly on the roomier side of fit, I haven't tried the Chambord but they look a bit narrower in the toe box. Plus the seam on the upper of those seems to permanently crease on the secondhand pairs I've look at. There's a few Paraboot stockists in town, End round the back of Carnaby Street isn't too weird a vibe if you just want try.

Before I send them back, would anyone like the sunspel x trickers loafers in a size 10?
I think I got the last pair but they are unfortunately a half size too big.
-
• #9556
Oooh, potentially. Are you normally a 10 in Trickers? And what colour are they, dark brown or a maroon?!
-
• #9557
They are dark brown, I’m a size 9.5 usually but they didn’t have half sizes so I thought I’d wing it on the final pair.
They are perfect and now I’m trying to find something similar but unfortunately these tick all the boxes.

I’m about to sell a few pairs of shoes again, sizes 9-10.5 inclusive / got some C&J, paraboot, church (the real ones before Prada) some made in England Loake - some new balance and adidas trainers, vans, Clarks wallabees and deserts boots if anyone is interested?
-
• #9560
could be interested in c&j / loake. i'm usually 9.5 in English made shoes.

I bought some Reiker shoes for work the other day. There a sort of suede shoe but with a trainer type sole. They’re super comfortable, but they look a little too casual. I’d still wear them for work. But if I go to an important meeting I’d normally wear a brogue. Are they are companies with reiker levels of comfort but with trickers/loake styling

Yeah keen to see any UK9 NB and Adidas, maybe the Clarks too.

• #9563
Yeah - keen to see any 10/10.5s

• #9564
9.5 could be of interest to me.

I am currently losing a fight with a pair of new loafers, going to try doubling up on Compeed but I might be too far gone.
-
• #9566
Don't sweat it. They're an affectation anyway.

Ha, I got these cheap and cheerful blue suede ones from M&S (definitely not Proper) for holiday wear and as soon as I put them on I could feel my cad/bounder/rotter tendencies surfacing.

Wow! Word on the street is that trickers are on their way out… sad times…
-

Gutted to read that. I hope they survive.

I wonder what the impact of wfh and hybrid working has been?
You can clearly see from this thread that there was also a big fashion trend towards brouges that has wained.

Ah man, that’ll be a shame if it happens. They’re so well made compared to new Loake, Grenson, Church’s etc who’ve obviously outsourced production abroad to cut costs.
It's always been good for me. Only bought Loake from the 1888 range in a 8.5
