Lovely, the video on the site has me sold. Nothing on their site about overseas shipping I can see. I'd imagine it would be a pain.

Those are great for creating slices of bread, less so for cutting a baguette into pieces suitable for a sandwich. Just be sure which scenario applies to you most often.

Ah yeah, I hadn't thought of that! It looks like you can get alternatives/knocks from places like Amazon but I wonder if they'd be as good?
-
• #6130
Without a doubt.

I made my own handle, but it is not as nice as this one.

What the fuck is that?
-
• #6134
Something approximating to knifey shape that costs more than a Lamborghi and is about as much fucking use (uneducated guess).

OK, that was with watching.

Check out the guys other videos.

He scares me, Salad Finger vibes.

That looks very cool but appears to be right handed only?
-
• #6139
....unless there's a means of turning the blade over.

I think they do a right and a left handed version.

I dare say but with a mixed household, having two breadknives according to one's handedness seems a little excessive ... of course us lefties, being extremely versatile, could easily use the RH one but that would mean pandering to the righthanded world, which is obviously wrong.

My step dad is right handed, my mum is left handed so she's delegated all bread slicing duties.

Living with your parents sure saves money for some nice knives

^ I thought that was going to be +40% get a tomato knife for a minute..
Derail but I've 'upgraded' my pans to a few from the municipal commichef grunwerg range. Couldn't be arsed with the headache choice of poncy design - but really left me wondering how on earth I had kept satisfaction with the TWO we had -

Victorinox tomato knife is (well technically are, we have 4 of them) by far the most used knife in this house.
Can go in the dishwasher and doesn't need sharpening.

I now have the Allday Santoku (which is lovely) but I have a feeling I may have the wrong board(s) to properly look after it. Is there a forum approved board that is reasonably heavy duty, dishwasher proof and won’t trash the blade? Looking at the cheaper end so hasegawas etc not an option. Cheers!

get a hasegawa rubber board, they are the nicest ones around but not domestic dishwasher proof.
-

Unexpectedly theres some quite good end-grain wooden boards on etsy for around £50.
Finding something dishwasher proof whilst also looking after your knives might not be realistic tho

Washing the knives and board after cooking by hand is quite mindful I think. Although with the larger boards it gets really messy as my sink is too small.
Yeah, that was not the first knife that went in the bin for that reason. 🤦🏼♂️
It has taught me patience. But like I say, I am a very fussy bastard about all this stuff. Opposite ends of the spectrum!
