I'm telling him to hold on to it for a couple of years until the market improves but he wants to try and get get a half decent price for it now. Just trying to work out what a half decent price is for one right now. He knows he's going to take a hit. He wants the money for a mortgage which is a much better investment. He probably should have done that first ay ๐ maybe he should also lose his best part of 200 quid a week wank wagon as well whilst he's at it but he's one of them and you can't tell these kids.

On the Daytona chat, he might as well get quotes from Subdial and other dealers - nothing to lose. Chrono 24 prices are always too high as sellers factor their 6.5% fee in (as well as pitching at optimistic levels anyway as thereโs no cost to listing and you canโt rule out a motivated buyer coming along). V rough rule of thumb is to knock 10% off the lowest price listing you can find for an equivalent watch. All that said, you donโt have to sell if someone makes an offer, so your friend could list it on C24 at the price he wants and just wait and see if he gets bites.

In a more fun post, I treated myself to something low-key and inconspicuous

Is like the watch is trying to contain G Shock. ๐

I'll suggest Subdial I was talking to them last week about a px for myself and they offered a good price for one but weren't interested in my other so I probably need another month or so then the watch I was after sold the next day anyway. They were really easy to deal with though so I expect I'll use them again. I know C24 prices are often toppy but he'd take 10% less than the current lowest price listed so could try his luck there

200 quid a week wank wagon
There lays the daytona, it's just a little step above conspicuous, but not quite audacious

The perfect accessory to a white Q7 โ

There's the problem they might wear the watch if they could move out of the yuppy territory, jag Bentley, something comfortable

Did anyone ever hear about this brand? It seems to be italian. I like the look of it but can't find a single thing about them.
(I'm also curious about the orange button)

Another recommendation for Subdial who I sold a watch too couldnโt fault them (they bought the watch themselves). Quick quote and payment ๐

Forum approved place for servicing in London?

Alsal on The Strand. However when I needed my Rolex repairing I just sent it off to Calibre which was probably easier than going up to the Strand

It depends what the watch is. Very little watch servicing seems to be done in London now (to the extent that you can walk in somewhere, drop a watch off, the guy out the back does it and you can pick it up a few days/weeks later). Alsal is that, and they're fine, but I wouldn't take something fancy/valuable there (they probably wouldn't even accept it).

I haven't used them but I know some jewellers send stuff to these guys in Hatton Garden
https://perriwatchrepairs.com/
I have used https://watchguy.co.uk/ a couple of times, very happy, think someone else here used them too after I mentioned them before. You have to send the watch off though...
What can I say other than don't buy watches for investment ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ Personally I'd encourage them to just sell it and be happy they haven't lost more, whatever it comes out to. IMHO obviously.
