It's one of those things that more common the higher the revs you sit at. Due to the balance shafts spinning at 2x the engine speed. I think they're rated for 14k rpm so unless you're redlining it everywhere at over 7k rpm then the chances of knackering them is fairly slim. But, that being said, I may do it in a year or so. Cam followers is my priority big change ATM (along with a thorough injector service) as the car is on 96k miles and the service history, though annual, does not mention those being done.
