I've never used numbing cream, but also have few "painful" tattoos (funny bone was the worst but also very small, knee was pretty bad but pretty big, the rest are in soft areas so no drama)

I had honestly never even considered it until having had the lines done. For a really spicy area I’d recommend. No reason not to, honestly. I’ve done my time. Sounds like you’ve done yours too. Would I use it for my leg or something? No prob not. But elsewhere on the front of my torso? Sure.

if i ever get my other knee done, i would certainly consider it / discuss it with the artist.
I had to tap out after 3 hours last time, lining and most of the shading was done, but the swelling and discomfort was too much for wimpy me.
