  • ๐Ÿ‘ brilliant watch

  • Nice, looks good

  • Solargraph is great, just what I've been hoping for. Maybe it will spread and lead to all sorts of innovations.

  • I'm really happy with it! 40mm is a good size for me I think. The legibility was a big thing for me as I have bad eyes and I find this very easy to read at a glance.
I told myself when I got it that I wouldn't be precious about it because it's supposed to be pretty tough. Changed straps quickly as the metal isn't totally up my street and clanks around a bit. I like the way it looks on the metal strap though.

  • I'm currently trying to hustle a new watch. If anyone is interested in my Green Clifton on Green Ostrich strap. Mint full set. I can do it for a crazy cheap forum price. PM for details I don't want to put the price down here because it might make me weep ๐Ÿ˜ญ ๐Ÿ›€

  • Anyone interested in this? Imported from Japan - I paid ยฃ120 and wore it for a couple of hours and decided Iโ€™d stick with my garmin.

    ยฃ100 posted?

  • Very nice

  • I think @regal posted about this one a little while ago, wasn't sure if they wanted one or just acknowledging their existence.

  • I am interested in this, I remember there was chat on here - is the any adverse issue with it being an import?

  • You have to read it backwards.

    Ommmm Haaaaar.

  • I guess no warranty but not much to go wrong with a solar G Shock. It wasn't sold in this country so the only option is an import

  • OK thanks, will read up asap

  • Heh, I actually ordered myself one.

  • Me also. Have been looking out for a couple of quartz GSs and the only options seem to be in Japan.

(FYI duty is only 2% on watches I believe, so the main consideration is VAT)

  • The GS boutique in London will generally order in JDM models on request and will sometimes have stuff like the (JDM) amagnetic models on display. Are there specific references youโ€™re looking at?

  • Yes, looking for two but neither are current models.

Either SBGX319 or SBGX091 or conceivably both.

I previously owned the 091 and foolishly sold it. Can't see any for sale at the moment.

There are a few 319s for sale but none really singing to me at the moment.

  • Ah, ok. Both look lovely.

  • Oh damn the 091 is great

  • I could be selling my Sbgp013
It'll be a couple of hundred quid cheaper than a second hand import from C24/Ebay. Excellent condition full set

  • hang_on_voltaire's lovely prince(?) day-date got me looking at Tudor day-dates again.

What are peoples' thoughts on the Glamour Date & Day? Aside from the shit name and not being as charming as the OG?

They seem like fairly good deals second hand. Can't help but feel they fucked the upper logo layout as the bottom nicely mirrors the curved day text, but somehow they fuck it overall. Although that could just be looking at enlarged pics on screen.

  • I was never a fan when we had them.

  • something odd about them - nowhere near as good as the 'oyster' ones

  • Agree with you about the upper logo. Hadn't noticed it until you mentioned and now I can't unsee. I still like the watch though.

  • Jumbo Day Date, Oyster Prince Day Date? I don't know what they're usually called but ref is 7017/0 - great size (38mm) and I love the layout - yes unfortunately I think they messed up the new ones they just always looked off to me.

I'm sure good deals on the newer ones can be had, but (relatively speaking) the OG's seem decent value when you compare a similar vintage (mine is '69) Sub for example, or ofc any Rolex day/date offerings. Only downside is that it's not quickset so takes ages to set the date/day.

  • Is it just me or do watches look smaller in photos? I saw this photo someone took of me today and this aquaracer looks smaller than it should, and I don't have large wrists.
