Bit of string across the shower or airing cupboard has always been my go to for drying. I remember reading somewhere once that running the shower on hot for a bit is a good way of getting dust out of the air immediately before you hang to dry.
Fix you can test super easily - put a little in a jug, drop in a snippet of film leader, agitate and time how long it takes the film to go clear. Anything over a minute and I mix up some fresh. You can get away with longer, but need to adjust your fixing time as it slows over time.
Stop I don’t think is too important for film (but more so for printing). I have gravitated towards just using water as I don’t think my timings are too critical anyway (ymmv). That is what John Sypal (of Tokyo camera style fame) advocates and he shoots hundreds of rolls a year.

It’s mint. Second image is superb, and not the sort of thing people usually shoot with it!
Edit: I think it got a lot of bad press for ‘only’ being Kodak Vision 500T with the remjet removed. Having tried developing 500T at home, remjet can do one. I’ll happy pay the Cinestill premium to avoid that mess!

Well, after giving my Leica iiia a much more in depth cla than I initially intended to and taking best part of a fortnight to rebuild it, it still caps.
So I've listed it on ebay now. I also emailed a dealer anbout selling my digital Leica through them so I'll soon be Leica-less.

However, my new (to me, obvs) Hexar has been working great.

Definitely use a little bit of leader to test the fix. It’s always worth checking quickly before washing, You can tell if it isn’t fixed if it’s milky looking, if this is the case you can just pop in some fresh fix for a bit longer.
I’ve stopped using a stop bath for any devs that are longer than about 6 mins, I think water works just fine. Still use it for printing though.

No probs.
For an 8 min dev I wouldn't bother. I use two 30-second water baths, constant agitation, at 20deg, I have been doing this for a couple of years since I ran out of stop and read on some forums that it wasn't necessary, and I've had no issues. -

Pentax 17 35mm Half-frame Officially Announced
..to be honest I'm not overly enthusiastic about this camera (I do hope both the SLR as well as the new compact camera they spoke about in the past are still coming out some time in the future as well), but of course it's great that a company is developing and producing new film cameras in this day and age in the first place, so kudos to them!
It's definitely not for me though - really don't care about half frame, I think it's ugly as hell, and also £499 is just insane, I mean you could get one of the premium compacts in mint condition plus a dozen rolls of film for that money, really wondering who's gonna buy this thing to be frank 🤷

A new SLR will be what, £1,500? And then extra lenses at £500+ each. You could get a 90s Canon SLR body and 50mm lens for well under £200 and just buy a new body if it breaks for £50.
I think this will have a much broader appeal, they can justify the project and then move on to full frame / SLR / medium format.
West Yorkshire cameras had 10 in stock, looks like they've sold 8 overnight.

Films seems to be regressing into a niche of fuzzy images with wonky colours and all the
nice things about it will be lost. -

It’s going back to lomography

If it keeps the industry alive...
Mrs M_V shoots a lot of out of date film. Tbh it's not really my bag but I can see the appeal of not really knowing quite how your images will turn out, think that goes hand in hand with the less instantaneous nature of film photography.

Half frame has always felt like a step too far for me. I prefer the grain and feel of 35mm b and w over medium format for sure (for my uses), but feel like half frame just takes it a bit too far for my tastes.
Glad to see them bringing something like this to market, but can’t help feeling something like a Ricoh gr or hexar af style camera at a similar price point would fly off the shelves. But maybe packing af into it would make it more expensive…

Im a massive fan of half frame but you need a pretty primo lens to make it worth while (olympus pen/Konica Autorex). I dont think zone focusing lends itself to half frame which does make it feel like its more down the Lomo route, and the pentax isnt offering anything you cant already get for less money. Fingers crossed we can get something more interesting in the future!

While on the subject of half frames, didn't you do these nice "sequences" back then, @mi7rennie ?
Haven't seen you / your pics in here for a while, hope all is well ✌️

I don't shoot much colour film and when I have done I have developed it at home for the last few years. Totally forgot the child-like excitement of getting scans back from a lab. I think these are Kodak Gold 200.

Great colors in these, sure that's not Ektar?
Sorry, it's an iphone, just wanted to add some boats to the discussion.
