  • I thought that, but in other shots it seemed to have grass on it, making me think it wasn't that new. Also, the way the water seemed to be pooling in existing tyre grooves made me think old surface, just more shiny than normal.

  • Hope Tao's OK.

  • I don't accept that this type of crash is unavoidable and that a few organisers could out their heads together and devise an alternative route.

I agree that it doesn't appear like new surface, which make the potential to avoid this even more possible.

  • I think you're over analysing it. Bad weather and slick road surfaces are part and parcel of racing, it can be especially bad in southern Europe where rain is less frequent.

The crash was bad, but short of racing on closed circuits that are cleaned before every race, I don't see how race organisers can mitigate this type of risk.

  • If only they were all riding gravel bikes with a minimum 42mm tyre width...

  • LOL, lead car just went the wrong way. Followed by head of the race/support vehicles.

  • Every time I switch racing on lately, something shambolic is occuring

  • No one else think that sticking up a couple of small yellow cardboard signs with arrows on is not really the most foolproof way of signalling a route? It wouldn't happen in Formula 1.
Clearly Pogacar on Giro form would have won that stage by quite a bit but, still, Roglic looks pretty good.

  • Formula 1 is crit racing for cars.

  • Poglic gonna be scary at the Olympics

  • It’s all the fault of indexed shifters.

  • Rog having a great time on the podium. I’ve forgiven him for the Vuelta atrocities.

  • Pog v rog tour again.

  • lol

rog is a one week racer at best compared to pog and i think he always was, the stacked jumbo team helped him win the GTs where pog was not present

  • Very true , I like him - bar the South London animosity- but can’t see him beating Pog …. nice to see him cheerful though.

  • He's won more three week stage races than Pogacar.

  • amey you do talk some rubbish. Roglic has one of the best GT records of any rider ever. The existence of a talent like Pogacar doesn't diminish that.

  • Of those thirteen GTs, he's won stages in eleven of them.

  • sure, G has won a tour while pog wasn’t there too

  • And thus Jonas has shown Pog isn’t a 3 week racer?

  • good point 😂😭

  • Some good lolz here. Keep it coming.
