Wonder how much coros paid for that puff

Meh, it doesn't exist to purchase and the Garmin 1040 Solar is already doing 5 day trips (and works standalone, unlike all the other head units that require a phone for half their tasks)...

Sad times - the RWGPS Find page which no longer had a link on the homepage, but I'd bookmarked and had been going to anyway, has now been deactivated and Explore is all that's left.

Yes, I noticed that.
Always sad when a really useful feature gets 'upgraded' -

i have the v1 elemnt bolt and its kinda giving up on life. is the elemnt bolt v2 still a sensible option now? is garmin better?

Tried another L200 (think it was £95 with various discounts) and used it today for the first time, just on the commute.
First impressions are that it’s totally fine, which really was the bar it needed to get over. It’s nicely visible, the buttons are good, it’s not laggy, configurable, etc. I’ll have to wait to the weekend to try out navigation but good first impression!

Good to hear it's at least working properly! I hope you get on with it.
I've done about 10 rides with it now and am happy. I'm using it in preference to my Garmin. The only issue I've had is the GPS does occasionally drift off. It's not as often as every ride but it has happened a few times now. I've found that if I change to a different screen for a few seconds then flip back to the map screen it tends to fix itself straight away. If I leave it on map it takes longer to come back.

I had two Wahoo roams fail pathetically (minor slips destroyed both backplates, and one screen was dying without any trigger)
Their routing/phone integration is extremely laggy to the point that route replans take 30 minutes from phone sync to hit the unitI'm now team Hammerhead as even on ultras I use only about 70% battery a day and can keep on top of that

Been on a Hammerhead Karoo 2 for about 18 months now and still have no complaints at all

Any thoughts here on why Giant are clearing out the L200/M200?
I get Stages have collapsed and folded into Giant but the devices, whilst not cutting edge, seems alright.
Perhaps theyre not clearing stock... maybe disrupting the bike computer market by bucking the trend for prices in the £hundreds. Maybe... -

I think it is most likely that they are clearing stock.
I don't think it has been resolved what happens to the remains of the Stages business. Hope is that Giant will pick it up and keep the good bits running with the people, but they may not. SRAM are also a possible buyer, or others. There's a discussion on DCRainmaker, but no updates for a few weeks.
I think it is unlikely there will be any firmware updates for these and, if they go wrong, it would be just a refund or, after two years, bad luck! I recall Stages had their dev team in Ukraine and who knows what has happened to those poor guys. Even if they have escaped Zelensky's press gangs, I expect they might have more pressing concerns than my GPS tracking drifting a bit under trees!

Edit: stupid post.

What’s the go to analytics app of choice these days? The stages app doesn’t have anything at all (“coming soon…”), I used to use golden cheetah and can go back to that but it feels like a faff copying files about (maybe a newer version is better).
Just power curves, tss, simple stuff

Intervals.icu is decent

I use TrainingPeaks. It works, I like it. Even if it keeps on telling me my body needs extra rest.

You have to pay though for tss and stuff like that though?

When doing a workout on zwift there are little buttons on the left hand side that allow you to adjust the intensity. So for example if I’m riding at 150w in erg mode and my hr starts to drift, then I can reduce my intensity by a few percentage points to compensate.
I just cancelled my zwift sub and am now using my garmin (either 965 or 530) to control the turbo. Is there any way to adjust intensity mid workout in a similar way on either of these devices?
-
• #3295
Quite possibly. I think that's one I do pay for.

Anyone ever replaced a Wahoo Roam battery? I had a perfectly functional unit that started lasting 6 hours, then half a ride, and now only switches on with the cable plugged in. Not sure which battery to go for.

Yes... at least there is on my Garmin 840, so I assume it must be possible on other devices).
I have a profile for the indoor turbo bike (created from the INDOOR template) that is set to connect to my smart trainer. Selecting that profile from the list when starting an activity throws up a menu to select stuff like FREE RIDE, SET DIFFICULTY, SET GRADE, TARGET POWER etc. I select that last one, input my target power, and pedal away. Once on top of the gear, it's starts tuning the resistance.
It's basically ERG mode via the Garmin. I've found it's not quite as responsive as Zwift's control, and the tolerance range it allows before it adjusts the power is wider... but it works well enough. You may even find yourself offset from you target (eg you set 200W, but are working consistently at 210W), but just factor that in.
That difficulty offset that Zwift is really useful isn't it? The alternatives to Zwift I've tried recently didn't have it (really only Whoosh tbh), hence why I experimented with using the garmin to control ERG mode. Interested to know if its in any of the others (indievelo, rouvy).

Super thank you I'll try that tomorrow. The best thing is if it also works in custom workouts. On Monday I tried a new set of intervals - these were specifically designed to be more challenging than the intervals I've been doing recently and for a multiplicity of factors (including a lack of sleep and work stress), it was immediately obvious that the targets were too high. On Zwift I'd have just hit the "-" button and knocked 5% off, but I could find no way on my 965 so just cancelled the workout and did a free ride for the remainder.

Your turbo's native app may do this too.
Excellent, thanks will try them then.
