Bottom bracket shell on the Factor is oversized, to the point that even a Wheels Manufacturing threaded BB and Loctite retaining compound couldn’t solve the issue. Bit fed up with it so I’ve parked it for now. Will try again at some point and leave it to set for the recommended 24hrs before riding, instead of the 45 minutes it actually had.
Re-enter the CAAD10 which I was unable to sell, even for approaching a hundred quid. RIP rim brakes.
It has it’s own issues but critically, it doesn’t creak. Scored some cheap Quarq power meter cranks for BB30 (another standard nobody wants), chucked a 105 groupset at it and raced it to 10th place against the aero crowd in my first road race.
