I’ve been doing wdt for a couple of months with the Robot and a Silenzio grinder. I didn’t notice any difference initially but I believe now that it does help with consistency of flow and flavour. There may be less of a difference for me because I only use Italian style roasts of Arabica/Robusta beans.

Agreed WDT seems to help with consistency, thought I’m no lever machine user myself.
On a different note, what’s the view on puck screens? I like the idea of a cleaner grouphead and basket post-knock but I was put off by some video talking about ultrasonic cleaner to clean it. Or just chuck in pulicaff and hot water with the portafilter whenever giving the machine a once over?

Got to give that YB a go then, likewise I’m no fan of acidity and “brightness”, but prefer a round bodied shot. Just got some Brazilian beans from JGC which I’m looking forward to try, but always keen to try a few and experiment!

YB espresso blend is another favourite.
Currently 30% the previously mentioned Brasil, 50% Colombian and 20% Guatemala (according to their website).

The dibsers have passed the chance, so here it is again: selling my 1Zpresso JX Pro, which now languishes unused as I have gotten a DF54. It's always served me extremely well, but as an espresso only drinker I'm happy to stick to the electric.
Will take better photos once I've given it a proper brush inside. It's in great condition though, the rubber sleeve has gotten a little less tight but still does its job.
is £100 a good forum price? Based in Crouch End, work near Charing Cross, happy to post at cost if need be.

Weeman is ill, so not in work today, but grinder is on my desk, so have had to look at alternatives.
Espresso ground some YB Montellano and banged it in the Bialetti. Genuinely one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had in memory: soft, rounded, good body, toffee and fruit but not particularly acidic.
It’s always such a buzz when you make a particularly notable cup!

I highly recommend these laser cut stainless steel filters with 0.2mm holes. Saves me a lot of faff with the paper ones and makes a decent coffee while away from home.

Anyone looking for a grinder? I have my trusty Mazzer mini electronic redundant after a spontaneous replacement this week. Looking for around £200 for it.

Thanks - will try these!

Does anyone have any use for 3 of these? I'm stupid and they don't fit my precision brewer. Yours for a forum donation.

If they fit the Bambino (which it looks like), then yes please.

Sweet! Drop me a DM and we'll figure out how to get them to you. You're welcome to collect from my home in SE20 or my work in E20 or I can pop them in the post if that's better for you.

I've gone keto recently and it seems to have messed with my taste buds, I can't stomach my usual coffee beans anymore. They taste completely over roasted, to the point of bitter and burnt. I've been drinking this stuff for years and have really enjoyed it, it's so strange.
Anyone else had something similar happen? I've found a delicious new medium roast decaf to take its place but unfortunately it's twice the price!

Likewise! I watched one band and spent the rest of the afternoon drinking beers with my friends so a pretty good gig tbh. Good luck with your massive walk.

No, you’ve just softened up into a snowflake 3rd wave noob. You’ll be telling me you’re smoking Silk Cut Lights next. HTFU and get yourself some Camels and a proper roast!

I cleaned my Baratza Sette 270 the other day, and was surprised by the amount of coffee that was being retained.
Does anyone have any experience of this sort of thing:
It seems like a reasonable solution to getting the last few grounds out, and saves slapping the top of the hopper.

I've one of these for the Rocket Faustino. Results are mixed (though it was a cheap 3D printed one) - I had hopes of single dosing but it was too erratic for me. That looks better designed so you might have more consistent results.
