I’ve had a 2006 Volvo XC70 2.5T in E10 for 8 years.
First registered in November 2005, so is in the sweet-spot of ULEZ compliance and cheap(er) road tax.
It’s quite juicy on fuel, and in the last 2 years I’ve replaced the gearbox valve body, cambelt & tensioners, and a few suspension components which were pricey, but it’s done 160K miles and I paid £2K for it in 2016 so…
It’s cavernous and we regularly use all the space… in fact, we’re currently on holiday in France with it full of 4x full-size humans and our 9-month old sprog, boot and roof box completely packed. Comfy and smooth.

I got them for a laugh just for that reason, for wonderment. Are they for the HW or the SEKTA? Nobody knows.

Borrowed this 900 cab for the bank holiday weekend whilst my car is in bits. Good to know that once the paint is done I still have some serious tinkering to do to get it to the level of a car that has just become available to buy for considerably less than my resto...

Those sills look perilous. Wouldn't be surprised if the entire underside of the car is disintegrating.

Are you good at welding?
-
• #78621
Yeah they're pretty scabby looking alright... seller claims it's regularly driven though and well serviced and maintained so hopefully it's all cosmetic...
-
• #78622
I'm moderately capable... I used to actually work with a classic car restorer as a summer job when I was younger and mostly did bodywork there... I also grew up on a farm so learned to weld at a very young age but haven't had heaps of practice in recent years...

My Alfa's clutch seems to have fixed itself
before: slipping in any gear at revs >4k
now: no slippage, operates as expectedit did have an oil leak for some time although was fixed c 5k miles ago. Could the friction plates have been contaminated and it is finally burnt off / removed?

• #78624
don't worry about the other Saabs. yours is going to be superb and will be worth every penny dude

Do you have the time and space to do the welding comfortably?
"Is anyone on here" interested in my Yeti which has just gone onto ebay. It has got to be a one in one out policy with my cars, unlike my 25 bicycles and 2 motorcycles (soon to be 3). £4250 with forum discount.
