I was squashed in the back of a ford capri with fabric seats and a sunroof, then various Volvos all with fabric seats ..

I feel your pain. I was in the back of one of these getting a lift to school in the late 70s (no seat belts) when it got t boned at a junction and i went flying. My dad shouted at me for crying. Those were the days!
