Clean bill of health! Ian the mechanic was very impressed with the condition, he bled the brakes and put new fluid in and they feel better, not as good as my truck, but definitely a big improvement.
I'm gonna research the timing belt thing, 100,000kms or 4 years and it was done in 2017 so it's probably overdue. Will hit the Subaru forums for more advice. Ian was totally unphased, we'll do it in six months according to him.
What a relief, I was expecting at least one bit of bad news.

What would you need, off the top of my head:
- Compressor
- Air con lines
- Condensor
- Evaporator
- Dryer
- Switchgear in the cabin and associated control unit
- Connection to the existing ventilation system
- All the brackets, wiring loom, associated gubbins
I'd bet that that's dash-out, maybe three days of work at whatever places in the UK charge per hour these days?
- Compressor

Went to Prescott hill climb at the weekend, it was one of their car club open days, so no timing and no helmets.
Was supposed to go in the MX5 when I booked it but still sorting out a few issues so took the VXR8 and had a lot more fun in it than I expected too! Big car for a narrow track like that.
Mate took a pic on the way and there's a couple of vids including onboard in this link:

Now you can start planning mods...

Still looks crazy seeing a Commodore crusing through the UK suburbs. Definitely deserves a DAS ( in a totally responsible and closed road environment of course....)

Yes! First things first tho', wheel alignment and will look at getting the paint spruced up a bit and protected. Then head unit, muffler, different wastegate for more choo choo, coilovers, tyres and maybe rims, these are growing on me and might be okay lowered. I've already bought cameras, now I know it isn't a lemon I can install them.
But I'm skint because builders, so most of these things will have to wait.

There's a little skid in the onboard video, but big skids have happened, will lap a roundabout nicely.

Thanks- I'm a long way away in Manchester, so it would be tricky to come and take a look. I will keep this in mind though

Including all parts? If so, I’d probably go for that.

Buy a tourneo with Aircon. Way cheaper.

Buy a tourneo with Aircon. Way cheaper.
Does the price include new parts or second hand. As that sounds cheap

How people used to cope without aircon i’ll never know 🥵

Wasn't there air con in the 70s

When in town... windows down.
My 2001 punto hasn't got aircon!
-
• #78519
There was air con in cars in the 1940s, and mechanical cruise control apparently, which is a terrifying idea.

My Accord Type-R was the early version that didn't have Aircon for weight saving reasons. Once I drove it from Interlaken to London on a very hot August day, that was a challenging day. 5th was far too low for the peage as well

Don’t suppose it was needed much in the Uk in years gone by- i quite like the (romantic) idea of window down, arm resting and hair wafting and back sweating- especially on red hot leather or vinyl seats. Not me in the pic

In other news we just sold my father in law’s 2007 Volvo s60 2.5t for £750 . Looks like the new owner didn’t check what the road/car tax was on it as it’s now untaxed…
£710 per year!!😱 -

What you legs were never seared by black vinyl marina rear seats?
I have scars from MR2 leather seats and short shorts from a fancy dress party.....
You could call a local indy to see what they'd charge. That will give you an idea.
If for whatever reason you don't want to do that have a look on some forums to see how people have diy'd it. That will give you a gauge of complexity, which points you to cost.
It might be straight forward. But at a guess you'd need to fuck about with the switch gear, electrics and remove/refit some interior shit. Then do all the pressurising etc.
