Despite owning far too many watches this is pretty much all I've been wearing recently too. It's just so practical

If anyone has a genuine Erika, I'm interested.

Lots of love for the ray mears. Probably my favourite watch. Annoyingly they’ve made it bigger and thicker in the most recent iteration.

Oh yeah - I’d not seen the latest (last year’s?) version. I’m not sure I like the rounded off corners and domed sapphire. One of the things I like about the watch is that it’s pretty utilitarian, which I think this version has lost a little. The extra 1mm wouldn’t look as good on my tiny wrists, either.
Half tempted to pick up another of the same version I have a stash it in a drawer!

Good idea, there’s now green and blue dials too.
The new version has also lost the cartoonish numerals so it’s lost some of its charm for me.

I've been tempted by a Japanese model with radio sync but could never really justify the cost.

I did just buy a slightly dinged-up one of these (photo stolen from somewhere and not the actual one). I wanted something that I didn’t mind getting paint on and wasn’t bothered about scuffing up. Will post an action shot when it turns up in the post.

Mine desperately needs a new strap but I've been putting it off for months. Will have to address that soon.

Sounds like they're remaking it to the original specs, I much prefer the rounded bezel and domed crystal. Maybe I'll get another one!

Posted this in the other thread but recently acquired my Grandad’s old watch. He died in 2011 and probably hadn’t worn this one since at least the 90s.
He even kept the original receipt.Popped a new battery in yesterday and… nothing.
The light functioned, so clearly something in there was working. Left it on a shelf and an hour or so later the screen was working. Tried to set the time but the screen faded out as soon as I started pushing buttons. Repeated this for ages, with the screen repeatedly coming back on then fading out like the power was being cut. Let it sit for a few more hours and now it seems to be functioning as normal. Seems like the circuitry just needed some time to come back online. Old capacitors etc.Anyway, glad it’s working. Wearing it today and quite into it.

I've got an old Citizen too, a Promaster I've had since the late 90's. At some point it began to eat batteries quickly and then I stopped using it for a few years. I tried to have the battery changed again recently and it didn't move at all. Lubricants had dried up, they said. I had it serviced, which cost about the same as a new similar watch, but I like this one and now it works again. Seems to be accurate too, it's been a few weeks. Apparently people often just change the movement instead of servicing old quartz watches, but they said they did a full service on this and looks like these movements aren't easily available anymore.
I used to spend a lot of time at the sea back then, mostly on a kayak, so it made sense to have a diver. And this is relatively slim for such at 10.8mm thick. Kind of incredible that I've had this for most of my life and it's still great and in daily use.

Realised I never posted an update on my Sensor Watch; the teeny little tactile buttons I ordered were too big... So I managed to make the original blister setup work better. Unfortunately I have to get the blisters positioned properly every time I want to reflash the firmware or change the battery, which sucks a tad, but oh well.
Replaced the poxy stock band with a metal one from a black Skmei A500 copy which was disappointingly thick... It nearly fits, good enough. Light spreader works great

Looks great with a bit of patina!

I need to do that light spreader mod on mine, the standard light is absolutely useless

Got around to opening up my old asymmetric Diesel today. No battery leakage so I’m going to clean it up and see if it works with a new one. Gasket is still soft and the module looks clean so we might be ok.

This is what they look like when they're working. They have indiglo-type electroluminescent illumination.
It looks like a full dot matrix screen but it's not - the segments are just designed to look like they're made of multiple dots.
They’re great watches. I wear it for most actives (not skateboarding, but only really because I scuffed another watch with the griptape once and now I’m paranoid), on holiday, in the sea, and I even wore it with a suit the last time I went to wedding.
