  • Check disc width, as a lot of travel isn't right.

  • amazing. After all the talk of needing big space you take a two seater sports car. brilliant. Look forward to seeing the solution.

  • I still need space! I'm just going to have to work out how to create it...

  • Good news, cruise control has stopped working on the drive home from Sunderland

  • I read Switzerland and was like where's the problem, it's only Germany in between.

  • Always thought convertible with open roof and box on the back is a good look.

  • lol:

  • Can you squeeze a narrow roof box on too? Used to run two bikes and a Thule box on previous cars - it was doable and with a bit of space to spare.

Is the rts like the Boxster one where you can’t open/shut the roof with it in so you have to commit to roof up/down?

  • That's the question I'm asking myself at the moment - the bars measure to 88cm, the 599 UpRide I want to use to mount the bike is 31.5cm wide and likely needs a little more than that for clearance as it has moving parts.

Lets call it 33cm which leaves us with 55cm for a roof box - and the ones I have found so far are all 63cm+.

  • (My plan to purchase a larger vehicle is in abeyance as I do not have an income, therefore a large purchase seemed to be unwise. I had hoped to have a start date for a new job by now, but such is life).

  • The subaru branded 4 pots are great brakes, we run them on most of our classic subaru rally cars - and some of those are making ~340bhp at the crank on a VF30 with a restrictor

If yours are like that, they almost definitely need a bleed / fluid change and pads

  • Being an auto it'll sound like a floppy jowled mastiff snooring.

    I loooooove that sound! 😋

I'm gonna get the brakes fixed and then keep my eyes open on MarketPlace for some period correct Scooby wheels (or some BBS meshies, I think they'd look ace). I'm currently looking for an OEM cargo mat for it, not easy to find!

  • That's good news, didn't really fancy shelling out for new brakes. Thanks!

  • I can't find any roof boxes that would be narrow enough so I'm thinking about a Peli case type thing with these Thule load-stops:

  • For example the Deli 1740.

  • Although in an ideal world it would be ~1.6m long, although there's 106 litres of space in the 1740 as it is.

  • I ran my Subaru with a Deadbolt 18g plus mods with the OEM 4 pots up front for a while, worked really well with a Godspeed bigger disk conversion :)

  • This?

  • It’s a better length- is it waterproof?

Also a little more money than the Pell

  • That won't fit on my bars alongside a Thule UpRide 599 bike rack - too wide.

  • Zarges is waterproof. Loads of them on the vanlife VW's here. But definitely a luxury product.

  • There seems to be narrow boxes named arjes G3 280, but maybe not in the UK.

  • I've not seen them in the UK but that's meaningless - they may be for sale there.

The Peli 1740 is £561 as a reference point.

  • Seems a shame to drive your porsche that far with a box on the roof.

Would it not be better to ship the box both ways?
