  • This change definitely solidified the importance of wheels and tyres for me.

I’m in catch up here, but does this mean you really like the ultra dynamicos?

  • :oo

With tubes? Are they as nice as daddy Heine would have us believe?

  • @stelfox: The UDs are good, but I think for the Crust 42mm is optimal.

@kvragu: Tubes for now, might getto tubeless the rims later. I never had any problems with punctures, but the ride quality of tubeless is undeniable.

They’re the nicest 26” tyres money can buy, except for the Ultralight version I had earlier. ;)

  • looks perfect with 26inch rims

  • It's what it was designed for, after all. ;)

  • I might have mentioned before but this is the best bike in existence. Especially with 26" wheels and drops.

  • Wow, that's perfect!

With these 26" tyres the volume to overall size ratio is perfect – I remember I wanted to make my custom steel frame a while ago for 26" but got conviced to go with 650B. Now I have these tyres in 27.5 in ultralight and its really like on clouds. Great would be a 27.5 slicky in 2.2 or so.

  • The bike looks so good with the 26"!

Try these with TPU tubes like Schwalbe Aerothan. I've really enjoyed riding my old stumpy with Aerothans and 26" billy bonkers. Way better feeling than with standard tubes.

  • This is easily in my top 3 favorite internet bikes

  • 26” wheels are for lovers πŸ’–

  • Thanks for all the lovely messages!

@rooooonin: Good shout, might try those at some point.

  • The Aerothans are great but not so when they puncture I've found.

    Great iteration Tijs!

  • It has been over a week since I came back from this summer's tour. You can find the report here!

  • One of the nicest bikes of this forum and an even nicer trip.

  • lovely pics <3

  • Don't call it an H-Bar.

  • Upside down shifter orientation, to preserve the on the lever clamp hand position.

  • Succumbed to peer pressure from @Josh, and swapped out the drop bars.

Doesn't look great, but rides really nicely.

  • Still the best bike. Although it looks a tad better with drops. :P

  • This is a very important update and I fully support it.

Very hard to make those bars look nice but you've done an excellent job.

  • That is a face only a mother could love. Looks comfy though

  • Above sums it up quite well.

Have to get in a long ride to see how comfy they really are. And probably add some bar tape. But so far, so good.

  • I think they look better! Big fan of this bike too.
