  • happy start of the downfall of the tory party day everyone.

Genuinely can't wait to see how bad it is for them later tonight/tomorrow.

The telly at 10pm (with the exit polls after the polling has offficially closed) will make great entertainment (after watching the various bits of football).

  • Not usually worth staying up for local election results, is it? They generally don't land until very late or the next day.

  • Just went and cast my votes in Reading. Tory PCC guy had stuck some blurb through our letterbox with no reference to him being a Tory except for the small tree logo at the bottom on the back. Did at least have the good grace to have a blue background as opposed to some of the more egregious ones obviously trying to pass themselves off as Labour. Either way, it seems they're fully aware the brand is toxic.

  • radio 4 said this morning some constituencies will still be counting over the weekend ....

I give you the Derek Zoolander Center Constituency For Kids Who Can't Read Count Good.

  • Yeah, councils can't afford to pay for overtime counting, so results will trickle in from tonight to Sunday or even Monday.

Time to savour the taste of it.

  • I really hope you lot are right. I can't shake the terrible feeling of 2016 and underestimating the power of the vote in places like Barnet where the smoothbrain cunts will probably vote Susan because they've lapped up her PPM lies.

  • Not usually worth staying up for local election results, is it?

No, I just meant the exit polls that appear bang on 10pm.

We've got a local council by-election in my ward too, which should be counted pretty quickly.

  • Morning my time is midnight UK- I’m looking forward to the news as I make coffee tomorrow

  • Overnight flight for me tonight. Landing at 7.15 tomorrow morning.

In the family passport queue so plenty of time to read up on the carnage.

  • What's the sweepstakes on tory seat losses? 475?

  • There isn't an exit poll for local elections

  • Johnson turned away for not having ID. WAstupidC

  • 99% of folk walking or cycling to my polling station. That’s encouraging.

  • Got a source for that? It's hilarious if true....

  • Sky tv I think?

  • Wonder which ID Grant Shapps used today.

  • Labour text messages saying London election is closer than expected, hopefully just trying to rally support for Sadiq and not an indication we're about to get a far right racist supporting conspiracy theory lunatic for a mayor

  • Johnson turned away for not having ID. WAstupidC

No. Johnson doing something he hopes is endearingly buffoonish to get himself into the news cycle as a humorous aside while the current Tory leadership are getting a battering.

  • Johnson doing something he hopes is endearingly buffoonish

Right? And obviously performed in front of a prearranged media crew.

  • I hope that just a get the vote out move and not an actually needed one.

  • Well. I’m a purist and voted Green across the board. My parter covered the Labour vote. If Susan Hell comes in because of one vote, all I can do is apologise.

  • Yup! Totally deliberate
