sorry, just catching up!
In Norfolk, the other person only gets to see the footage if they deny the incident and we go to court. Nobody has actually let it get to that point yet. One queried the date and time (because the old bill got confused by an American date stamp!) but that was quickly resolved and they were charged.
Realistically, it's absolutely obvious who it is reporting people. We don't see another bike on our route and we see some of the cars we have reported pretty much every day. Plus, the Bullitt would be deemed something 'weird' here too, so would be remembered. Thankfully, I assume most have to get to work etc so can't be wasting time following us to see where we live etc. I have had some fairly interesting attempts at shit-eye thrown at me in the school. playground though...

This is happening a lot in Germany, too.

Whoop
Further to the report regarding an allegation of a traffic offence that you have witnessed.
The matter is now progressing to a Magistrate Court where the driver has been asked to enter their plea. Should the defendant plead not guilty the case will progress to trial where you will be called to attend the hearing as a witness.
First time for me.

Some drivers (it mainly seems to be Uber, Addison Lee and other private hire drivers) have seen fit to open the barriers and drive over road works on Albion Road. I closed the barriers and half an hour later people had reopened them and started doing it again. It is clearly sign posted as a closed road with a diversion multiple times before that point is reached. What is wrong with people?

The counter argument is there are clearly no workers present so they can't be doing any work and it is just the utility company (presumably) being lazy about promptly reopening the road.
I assume they are waiting for the lower layers to cure before the tarmac squad arrive but that is too complicated for the masses.

There are a set of channels cut into the road that you can't see in the photo. I'm not a civil engineer, but I can't imagine the impact of a bunch of cars driving over the work in progress will be particularly constructive.

You can sort of make out the holes and they look mostly on one side of the road. They could maybe open up a single lane, with temporary traffic lights, or put down some road plates. Which night be appropriate if it was a major route or something.

You can see the damage drivers did to the road works in progress by driving over it.

I haven't been down there since it started, but I've noticed the 73 has been on diversion for a while. It's obviously a known problem that when you leave a site alone it will get damaged, as sites often are overnight. I doubt that people driving over this will cause bad damage (or the contractors wouldn't have taken the risk). I find it annoying when drivers do that sort of thing, too, but I wouldn't reinstate the barriers myself. It's a job for the contractors.

What are my best options to report this, drove straight at me without hesitation the wrong way into a one way road.

Fill out the form at https://www.met.police.uk/ro/report/rti/rti-beta-2.1/report-a-road-traffic-incident/
As part of that you can upload video. You need 60 seconds before and after the alleged offence.
Needs to be fairly soon after the events the Notice of Intended Prosecution must be sent within 2 weeks and the police take a few days to look at your form.
You might hear that they have sent a NIP. You are unlikely to ever hear anything else about any outcome.

Thank you!

One wonders why--did they turn into the car park there or did they drive further?
I guess there's not too much traffic on that but it's still an odd risk to take.
Glad you're OK.

The whole thing didn't make any sense, she turned the car around and then parked in the middle of the road.

You know German, don't you? Just wondering as I probably don't have to decode her numberplate for you. :)

Is it worth reporting a close pass (we're talking 20cm) without video? I've got a picture of the fella damn close to the kerb immediately after he overtook me, but not sure that's worth jack. Also.. where do I make a report?
Edit: turns out photos aren't worth jack on the met police website reporting system. Oh wells.

If that's your only evidence, absolutely not worth the effort.

Two absolute melts on the road today.
Both using a cradle to have their phone right at face level.
One on a FaceTime call, gesticulating wildly whilst gently weaving from side to side. The other, watching either instagram or TikTok reels, holding a giant coffee flask in the other hand, doing 50 in a 70.
What the fuck is wrong with people. Really hard, motorbiking in, to report these effectively. Remembered one of the plates but not the other...
Maybe I should rig up a camera.

I don't know where to post this, but it seems like yet another reason to have a rear-facing camera as well as a front one. Van passenger pushes cyclist off bike, Notts. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/c1k3k400jk8o
Maybe we need a 'which camera' thread?

Met is now telling people not to bother to report.
We are also unable to deal with any offences relating to driving/riding in bus/cycle lanes and the majority of offences relating to contravention of road traffic signs. This includes, but is not limited to, ‘keep left’, ‘no motor vehicle’, ‘one-way street’ and ‘no left/right turn’ signs.
We are unable to deal with allegations relating to vehicle document offences such as driving without a licence, insurance, or tax.
Do not seek to actively confront, reprimand, or engage with drivers/riders in any way. If your conduct is deemed to be aggressive, unacceptable, or does not conform to the Met Police values, cases will not be proceeded with.
Our decision in these cases is final and we will not engage in further communication

does not conform to the Met Police values
Which values are those? Racist, homophobic, misogynistic?
Doing their job for them and they still have a whinge and tap out.
If they just implemented my "confiscate and crush" method for every offence we'd have everything sorted in no time because no cars would be left on the road.

Which values are those?
The value of doughnuts, a nice cup of coffee, and anything for an easy life.
Racist, homophobic, misogynistic?
Optional, but generally very acceptable if disguised as "just bantz". Or not.

Nearly got wiped out on a Tiger crossing on Wandle Trail heading North across London Road/A217 west of Mitcham yesterday lunchtime. Waited for westbound traffic to stop, started to cross when a big white window company van sailed through eastbound, no attempt to stop at all, it just tore across Tiger and adjacent Zebra. Luckily I’d seen it and realised he wasn’t stopping (he was actually gunning it) so full on braking had me stopped before I was halfway across. Caught him at next lights he was rolling window down with profuse apologies even as I approached so didn’t bother to d-lock him. Pathetic scrawny arsed twat, red-eyed with lighter in hand giving off a strong drug-driving vibe. Told him about himself of course. Didn’t get details, but the crossing is a death trap (literally, I think an old guy was killed by a bus there recently) and should be light controlled. So who do I get in touch with about that? Location 51.395373, -0.173440.
Maybe, but you have to assume it will go to court when you submit video as that decision is out of your hands.
