Cheers.
Yeah, today sucked. My whole head is sore from a few fucking teeth. Stupid body.
I'm gonna skip the anticoag and see if it makes any difference tomorrow. Early night coz I don't want to be awake when the paracetamol wears off. -

I was told zero exercise for 24 hours, then minimal intensity for the next 72, to make sure the clot heals and isn’t pumped out of place. Pain should subside in a day or two. YMMV

I now feel a complete bastard for healing in a day or so, it is one of my few useful attributes. Get less worse soon.

It's 3am Fri and I've just taken all the drugs to stop the pain. It's pretty fucked. I assumed it would get better quicker I guess.

Now I've got some Amoxicillin.

one out today under conscious sedation. was dreading it but it was fine really

The fun comes afterwards.

bit sore this morning but painkillers kicking in so not too bad. just need to keep them topped up and not do anything silly to interfere with the wound. conscious sedation is kinda trippy. one minute I'm getting the cannula put in, next minute I'm coming to and it’s all done.

I just had numb gums and had 4 taken out. Kinda gross but no pain.
But then got an infection and was in agony for a week. So yeah, great stuff.
This is what happens when you don't see a dentist for 30 years.

Well, couldn't escape it any longer. Went into the dentist with pain in another tooth, came out without a wisdom tooth. He reckoned the source of pain was the wisdom, even though it was showing in one a couple along.
Seemed pretty stubborn to come out, he was having to wrench on it a fair bit but no pain having it done with just local anaesthetic injection. That's wearing off now and I feel like I've been mildly hit in the head with a bat. -

Funny this post crops up today. I think the back of my tooth broke off last night - the one the wisdom tooth impacted and I had the root canal done to. So I reckon it's probably rooted now. I probably should see a dentist to see if they can seal it up better but it's proabably a waste of money and should just be pulled.

Heal up and watch out for dry socket :/
-
• #114
Well that sounds rank. Fab

I had two lower ones taken out at the beginning of the year, very unlucky that both developed dry socket. Wouldn't wish it on anyone, pain was off the scale.
-
• #116
Reading up on it, it's far more common on wisdom teeth and especially bottom ones. Up to 30% chance for wisdom and molars compared to 2-5% for other teeth

I got my left lower taken out in Lanzarote in March under just local. Went so smooth I’m seriously considering dentist holidays in the future, like many I have a gross fear of them and this one kinda eased it.
Also Spanish painkillers are very enjoyable. Different planet no pain for the days after.
My pain actually showed up as like an ear infection weirdly.

Did you guys do salt water rinses or just regular twice a day brushing?
-
• #119
Salt water couple of times a day, it helps with the bad taste.

I think not doing as many salt water rinses as I should have (and wolfing down some Korean Fried Chicken far too soon after op) was partly responsible for me ending up with dry socket. I was advised to do salt water rinses after every meal and significant snack. Brush very gently.
Heal up fast @hippy post op is a bitch of an experience.
