Love a pointer date. I keep looking at this

Standard/traditional triple calendar layout, no? Combining it with a chronograph is less common, especially nowadays, but when it's done that's basically what it looks like.

Not at all specific to that watch, that's how triple calendars are normally laid out.
Mechanically, it's extremely difficult to do an in-line triple calendar display in a wristwatch, which is why the Patek in-line perpetual calendar (5236P) is a big deal:

What are the round white windows to the right and left of the minute hand?

So it’s hard and looks rubbish?

Christopher Ward going big on their new
Ti watch, into legacy brand money.I do like their watches but is there any resale/inherent value? Especially given the seemingly endless models and variants.

And a massive difference in price between annual and perpetual.
If you are that wealthy surely you can pay somebody to keep your watch up to date?
-
• #77412
That it looks rubbish is just modern Patek, I'm afraid.
Complicated watchmaking is… its own stuffy/dorky thing, really. I kind of hope it never becomes trendy.

I think they are still in the category of "buy it if you like it and want to wear it", not to flip or invest in. But that's normal for any brand that isn't Rolex or PP. I don't see that as a problem, or a sign that they're overpriced.

It's also £104 from Watchnation:

Enjoy these super-cheap SNK/SNX Seiko 5s while you can, they're the last of a dying breed. The SNXS has just been reborn as a £300 Seiko 5 (rather nice it is too, and 37.5mm). They are much better than the old ones, of course, with better movements and bracelets, it's just that Seiko isn't interested in making £100 watches anymore.

I’m more thinking for the “buy it, wear it and find out you don't love it enough to keep” scenario. Obviously depreciation is a thing (aside from the brands mentioned) but whilst there is clearly a market for second hand £5k omega/grand seiko/cartier watches, is it there for CW without taking a huge bath?

Can anyone ID Paul Walker's watch in this?
It's a low quality image, sorry.

It’s nice but 4 grand and significantly thicker than the regular version.
